i found them quickly and then somehow got out of the sewers without using them right – i didnt charge until Sonic glows and Tikal yells READY!!!, or rather i think i let go of the button right as he did and it worked with me thinking you just do it out of a spindash. so then i spent the next 10 minutes trying to jump to the roof of the casino and going “wtf” lol

i also wanna say the levels are pretty fun (if extremely busted & glitchy feeling) and running super fast as the funny little blue spikey man IN 3D feels awesome, is always gonna be one of my favorite things
BUT it sucks that the moment you collide with a side wall you immediately stop short and lose all momentum!! wtf kind of choice was that!! You should ping off the sides like you’re controlling a vehicle (or like, a pinball! Y’know, the thing Sonic T. Hedgehog’s whole movement style was originally based off of!) the control is just too finicky to perfectly shoot down the middle at all times
Also would like a tiny magnet effect on your character so they collect rings when they pass close, instead of having to pass directly thru them
i feel like i would benefit from screwing around with the Flycast analog sensitivity and making fine movements less jumpy tho hell if i know how to do that lol

i had heard the other scenarios are basically as long as Sonic’s combined but wow lol
im not ashamed to admit the part where Tails faces down Eggman and goes “I’m not afraid… I’m not afraid!! I can do this!!” made me mist up a tiny bit. im so proud

Knuckles scenario was quicker than I remembered, Amy’s was really bad and too long, and E’s was just a little one note even though i still love their theme song. It took me until this year to realize how wrong I was doing the Big Fishing, an embarrassing experience as someone who has beaten and 100% completed Sonic Adventure several times

i wish gamma’s story was longer. it’s a lot of fun, and unfortunately the tails and eggman stages in sa2 really slow the action down in a way that they definitely shouldn’t have.

i want a gunpla of gamma. him and amy deserve their own game beacsue sonic/knuckles/tails shit was just annoying and confusing.

i cant fucking believe the “oh no!” meme clip is from this game and that its just what knuckles says when he takes damage
the repetitive SFX clips are annoying but also so weirdly delivered & SO repetitive that i just find it hilarious. literally every time i fell off a cliff as sonic i yelled “Noo!” along with him in that exact intonation and giggled
or like when he’s encouraging you in the Tails scenario it’s cute at first but by the end of each level im like (OVA Sonic voice) SHUT UP SONIC
i mean its a sonic fan brainworm to love the voice clips of course, i will yell IT’S NO USE!! anytime i see/hear the phrase in media
its rly cute that Tails voice is seemingly just an actual little kid i liked that when they did it in SatAM/Adventures too
i love this stupid game this is the most delightful kusoge ive ever played

I just got back from Sonic the Movie 3.
big time spoilers
- Biolizard CONFIRMED… sort of.
- you hear exactly 6 seconds of Crush 40 WITH VOCALS. Also basically the entire soundtrack is variations on live and learn.
- There’s a NiGHTS chao of all things.
- Sonic didn’t say my favorite line from SA2, about going home to the planet as cool and blue as him. They totally could have worked it in too. Total missed opportunity!
- they brought back the human in-laws in the most contrived way ever, just to give those actors a paycheck I guess. Nothing as inane as the wedding scene in 2 though.
- they’re still trying to make you care about his fake ass guardians of gahoole owl mom’s noble sacrifice
- No fucking City Escape, unforgivable.
- The mid credits scene is absolutely nuts. They appear to be doing Sonic CD next! They should just adapt the OVA… I want to see Sonic’s Favorite Clothes in high def.
Overall I liked it slightly more than 2, which I liked way more than 1. 3 stars for Sonic 3. But they didn’t go all-out like I wanted them to. America is not ready for a full on accurate SA2 movie, and Hollywood unfortunately knew that and decided to take the responsible path rather than unleash the infohazard.

if we’re honest, Marsden has been hanging on since Ugly Sonic became the main draw for #1, #2 was sold on Knuckles and if Carrey can carry the Memefest further, whereas #3 is banking on Keanu, so … not to dunk on ol James here, but for sure he’s not what makes us plunk down cash for a ticket to the silverscreen
