The theme in her trailer is the 2k2UM '97 Special Team theme, who were called the Outlaw Team in KOF97. Not sure if that’s a hint or if they’re just treating that as Blue Mary theme.
Amakusa comes out in SamSho in a week so I assume this week SNK will skip a KOF trailer and do a trailer for Amakusa instead.

Honestly my first guess was Zarina but Vanessa’s has that pose in previous key art so she makes sense. Judging from the replies a lot of SNK characters have posed with their arms up though.

As happy as I am with the Luong team-switching–that’s precisely the sort of thing I’m here for–this almost certainly means we won’t be getting Seth, which makes me sad. Then again, it’s not like Seth and Vanessa haven’t been on separate teams before (which is something I wish we’d see more from the traditional KOF duos), so there’s still a shot.
I’m also still not a fan of Vanessa’s XIV outfit. I realize casual-ish outfits are part of KOF’s brand, but this just feels like it dilutes what worked about her original look without adding much that is itself particularly appealing.
Yeah, and it’s not like they gave her a new casual getup. They just morphed her existing design into something more casual, so it’s more like a revising her personality rather than showing off a new side of her. And the fact that it goes in the same direction as all the other design updates in 14, in upping the sex appeal, it doesn’t even feel natural.
Turning Luong into a secret agent already gives her more motivation than she had in KOF14. Her character bio confirms Gang-il is back, who is probably teamed with Kim this time. So who’s the third on Team Korea? Jhun Hoon? May Lee? Chae Lim? I can’t see either of the MOTW Korea reps joining the roster without both of them being in, so probably not them. Maybe even Kim’s wife Myun? (That’s too out there).
I will call it now. In KOF15 Sylvie Paula Paula will now be a vtuber.
