So story-wise Geese is definitively only back because Antonov is stealing his rep as OG King of Fighters, right? I like the specificity of it: he doesn’t mind if the Bernsteins, Chizuru, and NESTS steal his concept, but take away his place in its history, and he will destroy you.

Would make sense for some MI characters to make their way into KoF prime. Not Alba or Soiree or Blondie Boobie Zipper Lady, but Duke would totally work.

I like the implication that this thing is what Tung has been preparing for his whole life. That small notion helps to tie together a bunch of stuff, in that SNK way.
Tung is Terry’s teacher, of course, and Jeff’s before him. He’s basically thr grand master of SNK heroes. And his power has always stood out as bizarre in the context of SNK’s mythos, but Shun’Ei’s similar, yet more extreme and dangerous, kind of “stand” ability helps to contextualize Tung’s. And if all of this is tied into some kind of entity from way before the timeline of modern-day South Town, that kind of makes all of The King of Fighters seem like an extended preamble to whatever is going on here.
Which makes Antonov’s claim to be the original champion all the more interesting… there may be more to that claim than it appears.
This may also help to justify opening the dimensional doors and bringing in characters from the far alternate past, like Nakoruru.

Oh, the EU Antonov trailer has additional footage of his moveset.
Maybe it’s just the mega muttonchops and the giant cigar, but he does give me this vibe like you could just change his outfit and he could pass as some superbuff 19th century boxer or something.
Maybe he’s Rugal after years of buffing up.

I like Nagase, personally. My favorite original chara from MI
I like Chae Lim too, but she wouldn’t bring anything new to the table mechanics-wise.
I’d like to see Mai’s short haired variant as an alt costume as well. Or at least her Real Bout costume. That one was never used again in any other games, right?

Remember when they used to limit the rosters of thr main series and MI, to ensure the same characters weren’t being worn thin across both series? MI gets Seth, so XI can only have Vanessa and Ramon…

man that’s one game I hope gets re released on the PS4 because it was good multiplayer times and had such a wild expansive roster

I love that SNK continues to refuse to treat anything 100% seriously.
I love how Antonov doesn’t have flames, psychic powers, or any of that bullshit. He just punches REALLY REALLY HARD and then FLEXES.
