this rules! there’s almost like a peter gabriel vibe buried in there
i really like it, thanks for sharing
yeah i’m glad i revisited it – i had worked on it a while ago, forgot about it, and then found it again a couple days ago and decided to finish it.
this is excellent. thank you for making this
it’s bandcamp friday y’all
link your bandcamp stuff
my hardcore band released a new EP today, if you like scummy and evil music and have like 5 minutes to spare, you can listen here
did a remix for friends band
hell yeah. i had heard this was coming and it does not disappoint.
whoa this rules, overstimulating in the best way
new liveset - i was sitting on this stuff for a while and had some chances to put it out there but didn’t get to do it in the way i wanted so i decided to record it and here it is
of course i’m already thinking about doing another music thing so i have to calm myself down and tell myself to just wait a little it hasn’t even been a day wow geez
i have a new song out, the first preview track for an album i’m planning to release early next year
also i had the idea of putting it on youtube with just some random old game footage over it for fun:
trying to psych myself for the inevitable disappointment of putting so much more effort into this project and not getting a response i’d hoped given the chaos that is online and sharing stuff at this point. there’s still a long way to go though.
this song is really really good. i’ve spent the last 30+ minutes trying to decipher and transcribe the lyrics. i really like them…
my best guesses so far
the [streak] is out at 6pm
the bars, the empty field
they’ve lost their mind, and then
your mom forgot to pick you up
from school again
but she’ll come home
a [foot] in hand
ten thousand assholes run with giant cocks
[and] stars and bars
[eviscerating] children
always chasing their new phantoms
and think they live on [coffee]
but all they know
is how to [skin]
who wants me to just lay down
and take whatever’s thrown at me until i drown
'cause that’s what you’re supposed to do
in this town
and now this cavalcade of pointless rules
and arbitrary barri-ers
still no one seems to give a shit
can’t ever tell what’s real and what is fake
a cookie-cutter [problem]
_ the [top of/topple] _ the slightest [move?]
…
can’t see the killers right in front of you
can’t even do what you’re supposed to do
and…
…[louder, louder, louder]…
…to just lay down
and take whatever’s thrown at me
still i drown
'cause that’s what you’re supposed to do
in this town
[what] are you doin’, kids?
it’s all a big joke
seeds of your destruction
[ruin] our plans
inside your mind
you just didn’t notice
now there’s nothing left to do
…
[it starts to move]
…
…pick you up from school today
thank you!! do you want me to give you the actual lyrics? or does that ruin the fun
i do! i think i’ve gotten as far as i can on my own at this point!
i love how this song, like, drifts from being an almost straightforward tune at times (almost) to these terrifying digressions, but bits of the tune keep bobbing up under the murk
Terrible Town by ella guro lyrics
the street clears out
it’s six pm
across the empty field
where you lost your mind and then
your mom forgot to pick you up from school again
but you’ll come home a floating head
ten thousand assholes
roam with giant cars
with stars and bars
eviscerating children
always chasing brand new phantoms
and think they live on god’s land
but all they know is how to scam
CHORUS:
you want me to just lay down
and take whatever’s thrown at me till i drown
because that’s what you’re supposed to do in this town
an endless cavalcade
of pointless rules and
arbitrary barriers
still no one seems to give a shit
can’t ever tell what’s real
and what is fake
on cookie cutter properties
that topple in the slightest wind
BRIDGE:
he looks to you
with hollow eyes
nails and screws
jab your thighs
a gaping wound
that you all left there
can’t see the killers right in front of you
can’t ever tell what you’re supposed to do
and you’re lost without a
without a
without a
without a
clue
CHORUS:
you want me to just lay down
and take whatever’s thrown at me till i drown
because that’s what you’re supposed to do in this town
(voice) what are you doing kids?
<stuff you can’t hear at all, it’s in a super low voice>
out in the clearing past the road that time forgot
out on the armpit end of town
where no one goes there
cuz they’ll be exposed there
(voice) it was all pure white
to demons
and fentanyl
(voice) where it disappeared
apocalypse wet dreams
(voice) hidden under three feet of ice
emerge from
out in the back woods
another body found
it’s all some big joke
seeds of
your destruction
were all planted
inside your mind
you just didn’t know it
and now there’s nothing left
to do about it
just drink the poison
it starts to rain
then starts to hail
in an empty park
your friends are all gone
your blood will boil
your heart explodes
and there’s no one there
to pick you up from school again
aaaa these are great. thank you so much
We have a show this week! Yikes!! And somehow we’re headlining, I think just out of the virtue of us being older than everyone else on the bill. My bandmate is modifying a roomba into a roaming smoke machine, and I’m a bit nervous he’s going to be able to pull it off.
It’s the same night as one of my favorite local noise guy’s shows elsewhere so the odds of people I respect showing here instead of there up are thankfully low.
I like it a lot when power chords are mixed between first and second position and there are good underlying riffs in there too, IMO. Nice
