I’ve been enjoying learning more and more blender this week. I actually feel like I’m making progress.
two things:
1: just a portrait
based on a samus portrait from this upcoming romhack
pretty happy with how it turned out
2: there was a discussion a metconst about how large samus’s sprite is in m2.
someone genuinely thought she was 4 blocks tall and 2 blocks wide.
no, she's just this size
but
someone (not me) made this edit in response
thus
i felt compelled to take things to their logical conclusion
anyhow, after posting this and going to sleep i woke up to find that i had inadvertently set off a deluge of hornyposting amongst the night crew on metconst (oops)
all i wanna be is someone who gets to see a giant Samus
okay i’m turning that portrait into a pngtuber:
need a couple more expressions than this tho
Did a quick check in actual VR chat to make sure the size of everything was good.
…and to upload a version of the world I’ve been working on to VR chat to prove to myself I could.
i like the dishevelled hair, makes me think of the sim city 3000 advisors and their varying stages of distress
or ace attorney, for that matter
two more for the road:
Trying some actual sculpting now, and learning the blender material nodes so I can give the beige case that all important weird rough plastic texture.
whoa these are really good
Been detailing a vending machine and it’s teaching me a lot of lessons.
…Lessons like Texturing is more finicky than modeling. But I think I’m slowly getting a handle on it.
I made this as a symbol for a left transhumanist otherkin group. Aspen trees symbolizing leftism, animals symbolizing animals, waterwheel symbolizing technology. Getting a complaint we need more technology depicted to make it more obviously transhumanist, but not sure what to put that is thematically non clashing
Give the animals guns
I think I’m done with this now! It’s a take on a Kaili Blues movie poster using a photo @TooManyCookbooks took years ago.
cool
This rocks extremely hard
