felt like i was getting out of practice. had to give up on slanting the hat forward, as i was having a hard time making it actually look like a cowboy hat and not some amorphous blob on top of this dude’s head.

still early days in the nightmare sprint to get all the art for this damn book done but i’m feeling proud of what’s coming outta this hand o mine… these’re like 95% finished i just need to come back for FX pass stuff later like adding in tape or some gloss on the stickers in the second one. (also like. this is obvi not the original resolution but when i was exporting these i was doin it cuz im gonna use em on a KS post and that site hates images more than i hate using it so i had to crunchitize these)

nude painting using oil pastels. i can’t remember if i’ve ever used these before but they are somewhere between fun and annoying. very hard to work small details like the face (hence most of it ended up accidental). maybe i should look up more ways to work with these. maybe i could smear it out into finer details using something like a toothpick

picking this up again. still working on making characters look less static. probably have to learn to do these at a bigger resolution for that. by “less static” i mean more movement in the head that doesn’t look like a mess of pixels.
