That’s so strong. I always think about doing collage but feel like I would just put something together that looks like a middle school mood board.
I appreciate the kind words! Please understand that I have produced many pieces that are bad/less good and looking like a middle school moodboard - I have cherry picked my best work for internet art credibility.
That all being said, I find collaging (like cooking and game development) is best enjoyed for the sake of enjoying rather than directed towards any lofty end goal. Rip up glossy magazines and second hand comic books and marvel at the wild organic shapes the paper naturally tears into - piece them together like a a jigsaw puzzle of a height relief map - play with them until you stop seeing the scraps of appropriated print media and start seeing your own composition. And then?..take a photo, and rearrange them all again!

This is pretty solid - I really like the pose. I’d recommend playing around with the flow/hardness of your brush to make your shadows more, uhh, distinct(?). They’re quite soft which is giving more gradation in tone than you might want. The other quick-art-cheat for shadows is to take your base color and push it in a different hue direction as well as reducing the value/lightness - your mileage may vary but generally this is an effective way to make shadows and highlights pop.
really put my nose to the grindstone today. i had a plan to put ten levels in my game, and i finished designing all ten of them. now all that’s left is to add collision, objects and enemies. also sound, which i am not looking forward to because i am bad at music.

I think I’m fully committed to, uh, ending this webcomic at the end of this chapter with some kind of ending…I wanna do something different, I don’t get as excited as I used to while doing pages. I want to do something with much more planning involved.
