That’s really good. I love the colors and all the detail in that storefront. Nice work.

thanks pal

A 4 color moonscape WIP.

512x448 pixels, the max size of SNES’s high resolution mode that was mostly used for menu graphics in RPGs.

I love aseprite’s dithering tool.

I did mention I was screwing around again with animation and trying out Aseprite too

edit: critiques are welcome! I’m not too experienced with animating, still learning a lot from trial and error

I’m not an animating pro, but I thought the forward kick was a bit too snappy. I duplicated the foot forward frames, and sped up everything overall. I usually animate at 1/60s increments (16.77ms), so I changed it from 90ms increments to 100ms. The duplicated frames are 50ms long.

Otherwise it’s pretty nice. You might want some more secondary motions, but I’m not sure. Part of that is the design of the character.

First attempt at 1bit monochrome style.

Starry backgrounds are kind of hard because it’s too easy to make something that has too much regularity or is too evenly dispersed.

Attempting a wizard type character but so far all I’ve managed is “old man in his bathrobe.”

he does look like he’s about to summon the spirit of old spice, in a way that i enjoy

Jokkmokk, Sweden?

Well when you get right to it isn’t a wizard just an old man in his bathrobe with some fancy visual effects?

Well, there you go.

can’t be Grismaldor the Undying because too much hair + Grismaldor’s three totally human dicks would be flying out from under the part

that said

I think most wizards become wizards because it’s an excuse to just wear a bathrobe all the time, free of societal judgement or nagging guilt

Made this on the ipad with a fun drawing app called Amaziograph. I goofed hard by not making the canvas square and didn’t notice until I had almost reached the edges with the linework. I pushed on through and finished it anyway because damn it I shouldn’t give up on something halfway through just because it’s not going to turn out perfect. Sometimes it’s about the process and not the product.

Here’s the uncolored version if you’re curious. Check out Amaziograph! I linked the pc version but there are apple/google versions of it too.
