Apparently 9 just had the one airship and chocobo you could use. I only though there were more airships because there are already so many airships in that game.
I don’t know. I stick up for it but I wouldn’t recommend 9. I played it once but thoroughly seeing and doing most of what there was to do. I have a good impression of it but no real desire to experience any of it again in much depth.
Aren’t there two–the final Cid airship and then the big bad guy ship that has been terrorizing the party for two acts, which you then capture?
In any case, after replaying that game last year, I quite like the first 70%, but really lose interest once it starts being about Kuja and the not-Saiyans.
I imagine you can say that about a fair amount of Final Fantasies, though–certainly VI.
Apparently the X team wanted to set the first several hours of X in Zanarkand, similar to the opening Midgar act of VII. But you gotta love how X shows you this beautiful Final Fantasy metropolis and then unceremoniously blows it to smithereens in the first 15 minutes. Like a middle finger to anyone who thought this would be like VII.
Watching the episode of FMA where Alphonse fights a similarly disembodied soul in armor and thinking: FF9 did this, then FMA did it twice, and then Nier did it twice
