apparently âreally gotta sit down and think about thisâ means âname the first 10 movies you can think of in 8 minutes?â
I mean, were you sitting down?
Redid my +1s to overlap with othersâ lists. Everyone here has some excellent taste
When I heard none of my weekly movie night (RIP) pals had seen Cube before, I picked that and Event Horizon as a double feature. However, I donât think either went over well surprisingly. Glad to see both are getting some love here.
For our movie night I paired Cube with Jim Hensenâs The Cube for Cube². Both films kinda maddening in their own way.
A non movie night friend said I dropped the ball, and I should have done exactly what you did! I wasnât aware of the Jim Henson movie until they mentioned it! I still need to see it.
I read all of that as Cuba and even went googling for Jim Hensonâs Cuba.
The number one Muppet courtroom drama
Jim Hensonâs âSoy Cubaâ
dont underestimate the ability to think
Alright, here are my +1âs!
- The Assassin (2015)
- Stalker
- The Thing (1982)
- Roma (2018)
- Blade Runner: The Final Cut
- Bone Tomahawk
- Hero (2002)
- Yi Yi
- Ghost Dog
- Edge of Tomorrow
- Dune (2021) (please be worthy)
I admire your optimism.
this is obviously not why this movie ended up on my list based on my 10-year-old selfâs obsession with dinosaurs, but i am really looking forward to arguing for this movie on the basis of it being spielbergâs most powerful, pure expression of self because of the way it distills his obsession with âfamilyâ into basically just a movie about the necessity and inevitability of procreation
