Seconded.

I got Yoshihiro Nishimura to sign a DVD of this for me once, which is I think the exact moment I realized I like meeting people who make things I enjoy, but I don’t care about signatures.

When I saw him again later I thanked him for making Meatball Machine Kodoku. I did so in very bad Japanese. I don’t know if he speaks English or not, but in neither encounter did he say anything in English, so I wasn’t going to initiate that if he didn’t.

He’s a fantastic director and seems like a nice dude too.
I love the strong female leads, and old school practical effects work in his films.

I love that the exact two John Waters movies that I was torn between are the two I’ve spotted on lists here.

Especially since neither are the obvious picks (no disrespect to Pink Flamingos though)

This is difficult. Even narrowing it down to ten per decade would be a challenge. But I guess I’ll go with these for the moment.

The most glaring omission from my list.

The sheer classiness of wourme to provide links to letterboxd for each of their entries. Respect.

I had moved Time Bandits back and forth between my primary and secondary lists and I just realized that I left it out of both. It will probably have to replace something.
