I’m thinking about selling my Pentax K-5, and I figured I’d put feelers out ITT if anyone might be interested before I wade into eBay or local shops, etc.
Following up on this, I went to a big anime con a couple of weeks ago. The hentai game publisher Mangagamer was right at the entrance of the dealers Hall (surprise, families with children!) and they had a big banner for this game. So yeah, I guess it’s pretty popular with the kids.

I recently was asked to do a photoshoot at an anime con again, and I kind of do like how several of the pictures came out despite the rushed circumstances (working in the Washington DC Carnegie library-turn-Apple Store right before closing). But I definitely feel the need to work on stylistic post processing and color grading. I only know how to adjust things to a “natural” look, and I imagine the kinds of people doing cosplay would really like something highly stylized to evoke the properties they’re cosplaying.
I also feel these are very conventional composition ideas, but at least I tried them once and have an idea of how to do them somewhat. I’d like to push farther and try out more interesting “storytelling” portraiture but it’s still kind of weird to think about how I hadn’t been doing anything like this more than half a year ago.
