An idea I had ~15 years years ago that I just remembered:
A Star Fox 64 prequel for the DS that uses the microphone so you can scream real good before you die.

donât know where to post this because it is a dream i had, a game idea, but also a question because it seems likely that this already exists
but basically i had a dream about a 3rd person action role playing game, sort of in between like soulsbourne and god of war or whatever. the gimmick was early on in the game you acquired a kind of fox-like familiar character that you would continue to gain new abilities for over the course of the game. e.g. in the beginning it would just kind of hang around the background and occasionally support in some ways, or respond to simple commands. i have a feeling the new gow does this with your precocious son character.
but the interesting part was at a certain point you would gain full control of the creature, and then learn an ability that would allow you to teleport to where they were as long as they were in your line of sight. so the camera would kind of zoom out to keep both of you on screen at once if possible, or if you got too far away would just zoom in on the fox to indicate that you were no longer in the line of sight. in the dream the way this worked was i was fighting a large dragon thing, and the way to beat it was to run the fox over to jump on its back, which it could do because it was smaller and more agile, then the teleport trick would put the main character on the dragonâs back for massive damage.
but after waking up i realized you could also use the same gimmick for exploration. like if you could see an exposed balcony in a building but the doors were locked, you could sneak the fox animal in to the house through a small open window, then navigate to the balcony and teleport your main guy up there again.
anyway this seems basic enough that i feel like it must already exist in some game, but i donât know what it is. i guess itâs kind of like a combo of gow and the teleporting gimmick from ffxv? idk.
horror game about cybering with demons in the late 90s called a/s/l: abaddon/satan/lucifer
horror game about being a japanese videogame producer working on a horror game who can see ghosts and is also trapped in development hell

Super Mario Theodicy
Mario travels across the globe to educate himself about various world religions, as pictured:
mario mario, lapsed catholic
This is more of a movie idea than a game idea, but itâs game related: the movie Speed but set in the speed running community. Like the bomb goes off if you donât have the fastest Mario
A game with Dark Souls-type intentionally vague storytelling, but thereâs also a faux wiki about the game thatâs updated as you play it. The wikiâs speculations about the plot range from the insightful to lunatic. The game itself is so vague about what you should do next that youâre going to have to consult the wiki, which will present a number of different theories; if you follow through on a theory, that theory is now correct and the others are incorrect.
I want a competetive pinball table with a hump in the middle and players on either side going all pong at each other
Battle Dome isâŚwell, itâs something
âYou need [âŚ] someone to rip the pants off ofâ
I had this as a kid and only a year ago, trawling through roms, I realized there was a Japan-only SNES adaptation ???
other competitive pinball videogames include battle pinball, one of the modes in family pinball, and akira psychoball
and pinball duel for psp
pinball duel is called battle pinball in japan, but itâs not the same as the 3do battle pinball i mentioned above, or the snes battle pinball which isnât a competitive game at all, but a spin off of the great battle series of tokusatsu and gundam crossover beat em ups (wow that post is over a decade old)
i had battledome at home and its 10x smaller than it should be even when youâre 10 years old
I like how they specifically have a few black marbles in there because they know theyâre impossible to see

Is this not just Hungry Hungry Hippos in reverse?
âŚis not all pinball Barfy Barfy Hippos?
Hippos who are good but thanks for offering
this is something iâve wanted since seeing that classic sim city art as a kid, then a few years later i was re-inspired by the âcity of devilsâ game in flcl, and playing with a digimon has made me think of it again. a dedicated handheld with some kind of world building type game in it?
just the idea of this object you can carry round and it has a little world in it. thatâs why it has to be a dedicated machine: if itâs a game on an existing handheld or phone, then itâs just a game, but a dedicated machine would better get across the whole âportable worldâ concept
