These models canât build anything from the inside out because they only analyze millions of end results and then generate new results as close to the average as possible. Video data isnât parcelated at the level of âskeletonsâ or âfiguresâ and so the algorithm is blind to them on that level. You might could train one of these models on a bunch of like Unreal animation data but all it would produce for you then is more Unreal animation data.

ControlNet is able to extract a pose from a picture and generate new pictures based on it. Itâs fun.
I imagine black box commercial models use similar kinds of tricks but they wouldnât tell us about it because it would detract from the AGI narrative.

pose reconstruction from single-camera video data is pretty advanced. this is a few years old
like the guy says, well-studied in the medical domain. remembering the automatic atlas system to label body parts in CAT scans when I worked at a medical imaging place
itâs not general magic yet, the most accurate would extract a reasonable model capture of the performer to match silhouette of estimated pose + a human joint constraint reference dataset. nothing too outlandish, already lots of research
