2019 and this game is definitely censored in Japan. Based off IP? Played the demo Steam. The part where the guy gets eaten in half and intestines I just got a bloody whole model.
I later shotgunned a headoff so there is selective censoring. But still a little mad and surprised they are still getting censored.
Edit: woah the radio body is supposed to be real gross.
I was considering double dipping, staying up late last night and installing the PC version to play early, after already having the PS4 copy on pre-order.
But yesterday I managed to somehow completely ruin my Windows install, bluescreen bootloops corrupted system restores etc, futzing around with GPU driver stuff.
I canāt try this out til tomorrow, at which point Iām going to buy it on PC and try to get it running without causing my computer to totally lock up, replay clips of Leon cursing, and then start emitting loud beeps every time I move my mouse. My computer mostly fits their optimal settings so I donāt know what the deal is. If I canāt solve this then Iāll get the steam refund and switch to PS4.
this is what would happen if i made a sequel to Eternal Darkness
I met Marvin.
Iām really bad at this. Alternate between trying to play it like 2 and 4 and neither works.
Having not played the demo I was expecting the trek to the Police Station to be drawn out and distended but itās the opposite. No gun shop.
nooooo
donāt worry
they save it for later
Also went Leon first but heās an earnest loser.
Where are my bingo quips?
Hopefully he still falls for Ada for no reason.
cant believe they changed leons backstory so he wasnt late to work because he got wasted the night before capcom bury this franchise
Yeah, It took me an hour or so of some experimentation to get my sea legs in this regard. I now just try to outright avoid combat unless necessary and walk as quietly as I can around the zombie infested areas.
Shooting them in the legs doesnāt always knock the zombies down, so I think Iām just going to try and hit them in the head so they stagger and then that will allow me to get by.
Loving this so far.
game is real good
I keep holding the left stick in like itās gonna keep Leon running at top speed. My thumb whines back: stop trying to dash yo, thatās some thirps habit.
Movement and aiming feel silky smooth aside from trying to edge by zombies. Which impressively might be more dangerous than ever before. Their tells arenāt as obvious, shuffles more erratic. Unlike the mobs you used to just shove off after a nibble, every grab here both camera and health bar wise is felt like a huge ARGGGH mistake.
So far Iām really impressed. I miss the music (will play with the og ost next round) but most everything iconicās intact, and thereās more being improved than diminished. Damn.
It really doesnāt look like a 60 fps game but it totally is, the small, very baked environments with world-class materials and character modeling are apparently very beneficial next to the more common budget spend of infinite draw distance, weather systems, etc in open world games. Iām so very happy weāve finally got two or maybe even three Japanese developers rehabilitated to a point where theyāre on the technical razorās edge again, you can start to pick out value differences between them and Western studios in a modern environment.
The PC port is also beyond sublime; Iām getting a fairly constant 120FPS maxed at 1080p on a GTX 1070. Iām playing on a 65ā 4K HDR OLED with a controller and I had just finished replaying the original in a PS1 emulator, which I highly recommend to see how they quoted and recontextualized so many discrete moments in it.
This game is the ultimate How Far Weāve Come experience.
I just wish they had pushed Hardcore as the default mode; I think it would be received better because then it forces you to play it like a Resident Evil game.
I was tempted to Hardcore then decided to see what kind of challenge Normal presents. More than ribbons being involved I wish autosaves werenāt a thing, but they donāt seem very frequent.
My pc handled the demo well at higher-mid settings. I just leaned console from old RE sentiment but wonāt be seeing my replays sweetened like Mr. X gon give it to ya
One nice thing is that every cutscene, even minor room transition ones, every second where youāre not in direct control can be skipped with virtually no loading times.
Iāve already restarted Hardcore like 15 times because I just canāt abide by being bitten so early. Sometimes I even still get bitten by the first zombie in the prologue. It has not ever gotten tedious; this game is simply a real tense joy to move around in and narrowly skirt by zombies.
first we gonna ā AHHHHH!
then we gonna ā AAAAAAH!
then we gonna ā AAAAHHHHH!
AAAHHHHHHHH!
