The Guacamelee wrestlers are such obviously perfect Smash characters, except they aren’t anime and don’t have swords.
I unlocked the characters and was apparently pulled into such a fugue state I actually missed the game telling me I did.
Anyway, I still don’t know if I actually like this game.
Help.

Looking it over and if each playable character were to represent a particular Nintendo console then the Nintendo DS ends up at the bottom with only Lucario there standing up for it (even the Wii U has 1 with Inklings and a half with Bayonetta). Who would be most likely to inflate this number? Looking at sales numbers of titles with somewhat iconic characters it would probably be between
- Chorus Kids/Karate Joe
- Professor Layton (if Isabelle can be a fighter then why not?)
- Cooking Mama
- Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents

Oh god I never considered the possibility of the Ouendan boys. You could have the EBA and cheerleaders as alts, too.
Obviously they’re gonna bring in the full slate of memorable characters from Feel the Magic: XY/XX.

i was actually pretty surprised that Cloud doesn’t fight Sephiroth at the end of classic mode.

I don’t know why people hate World of Light. It is big and stupid and totally pointless - what’s not to love??
Seriously though, so far I’m liking the stupid fights and when I encounter something I can’t do, I’m just like
Oh, I guess I’ll level up and come back later.
I wonder if people are viewing it more in the vein of Classic Mode and feeling like they should be able to accomplish victory in every fight from the get-go. It’s clear to me there are level barriers, but the game is so obtuse in explaining these things I could see just trying to brute force things.
Anyway, it’s big and stupid and totally pointless and I love it.

I like the spirit of it. It’s the execution and format of it that makes it wear out with me real fast. Doesn’t help I only saw it as a way to knock some characters out of my challenger queue so others would pop up sooner. It just feel so boneless once you get a few spirits leveled up to max and bulldoze your way through things. Like I said earlier, after unlocking all the fighters, the carrot is gone for me and the stick just isn’t terribly engaging. It’s not feeling like much of a journey anymore. It has it’s moments like the street fighter section but those don’t quite happen enough to keep me in it. I saw my friend do the Rathalos section and that looked great. I need more like that.

It is at this time that I would like to point out that Porky Minch does not appear in Ultimate as a fighter, a boss encounter, an assist tropy, or a spirit.
Buzz-buzz has a spirit. EVE has a spirit. Dungeon Man has a spirit.
Only sign of Porky is a spirit for the Absolutely Safe Capsule

The slow and steady degradation of target smash since melee is one the saddest things about this series but probably just the price we have to pay for this amount of characters.

Having never played that version I had no idea it had an almost double the amount of different enemies compared to Subspace Emissary. Such a shame that all that effort went into a local multiplayer only mode exclusive to the 3ds version.
