The first custom stage I saw when I checked online was called “Notre Dame 2019”, a stage where the roof was on fire.
I can tell things are off to an excellent start.

I’m loving joker so far. he’s basically a faster cloud with more kill potential and better all around recovery.

The problem I’m seeing with Joker is that it feels like everyone playing him is just going to camp until they have Arsene, at which point the opponent will then attempt to camp HIM out so like
Love the character, love all the touches and all, but I can’t see his fights being anything but boring

It’s an ugly hack, but I finally pulled it off: the new tools let me realize my dream of building a stage that starts as a narrow canyon before undergoing various irregular transformations which eventually result in a symmetrical platforms-and-ground floating island.

This builder feels a little better but I still want D-Pad precision input. I haven’t tried running it docked to see if it magically does now. I only messed with it abit in portable mode.
Joker has a weird feel. A two part dash attacks is new and a little exciting with it’s angle. The actual persona meter and having it summoned feel like weird balancing act. You can’t sit on it and when you do have it I don’t feel that much stronger with it. It doesn’t feel like much of a change outside of the special move buffs. I was really hoping for more of a puppet character that they seems scared to give us. Rosa/Luma felt like a half step. I will say, he has a lot of tools to edge guard with. The bullet storm is a strong option.
I feel like arsene is relatively balanced tho because you can literally beat the arsene out of joker. it only takes a few decent hits. Also joker’s frame data is really mixed even with arsene so it still takes some work to land a kill. I feel like joker’s kill potential without arsene is being underrated though. He can still take stocks from mid weight characters with his smash attacks and they came out fairly quickly. But this tells me that high level joker play will involve more than just waiting for arsene. cloud arguably could use a similar strategy but cloud matches are rarely that boring to watch. idk I guess it remains to be seen.

Has rapidly crouching in place always been considered “teabagging” in fighting games? I only started hearing the term be thrown around in the last year or so I think. Can totally see it as such when done over the body of a knocked down opponent like the Halos of old but even when done across the stage? Had previously just considered it a fun little dance (sort of on par with rapidly raising and lowering your shield in Dark Souls) and to learn that it’s now known as the most disrespectful of disses is a bit disappointing.

Has it been stated somewhere that all future DLC characters will be third party guests or is that just what speculating gamers have assumed when making fantasy draft lists?
As far as I know speculation. A supposed leak listed mostly third parties if I remember. We’re still waiting to hear when they’ll start teasing us with another.
