Specifically that every cabinet is linked in one single instance and not the semi-common kind of matchmaking situation?

Tekken and Street Fighter and music games and well…everything that still exists has been doing this since 2010 or so.

Actually Virtua Fighter 5 was doing this back in 2006.

I didn’t know that! But I don’t have any good arcades near me.

Arcade game net code was as bad as console game net code, right?

Local only play would have absolutely killed things like starwing paradox that took up gigantic amounts of space and wanted like 16 players. (Game died anyway though)

Vaguely tempted by rogue trader while it’s on sale even though I know very little about 40k and I don’t really have the time for it

did anyone like this. are the combat and writing like Larian good

the CRPG? I heard it drags

the original rules? those rock but would kill you

twitch isn’t working on my new internet. Everything else is fine but twitch, which plays video for 2 seconds before spending 10-15 seconds buffering. Any ideas? I’ve tried changing video settings and renewing my IP, changing the DNS to be google’s, and a few other things.

what’s the best way to play thief nowadays? i have a vague memory that the official releases aren’t (or weren’t?) up to scratch and that community versions were better?
i ask specifically because the trilogy is on super duper sale on gog rn (like 5 bux).

there’s an “unofficial” patch called TFix for Thief 1 and 2 that uses the NewDark engine which is a compatibility update for the original games.

i’d fully recommend playing these games also! they hold up shockingly well as someone who played Thief 1 for the first time in 2018. still hate the stupid Thieves Guild level from Thief Gold though.

does anyone rememeber the 2000s Aztec challenge (maybe late 90s) remake by the person who made the commodore 64 Aztec challenge? you play as a sexy babe and die a lot. I want to play it again

this used to happen to me a lot, and I had a very unhelpful resolution by switching from ADSL to fibre

i tried this out of curiosity and it doesn’t seem to get past the intro. i couldn’t find it on flashpoint’s list of games either. i wonder if this can still be played somewhere. it seems like there was a CD version of the game you could get by emailing the guy.

yeah i cant get it to play either but im glad i wasnt hallucinating me playing it at @Infernarl 's when he lived in concord

I wish Paul Norman’s old Web site were still up. It’s just a list of games now but I remember it being odd and having lots of content years ago.

ISO indie ‘hangout’ video game. Unsure exactly what that means, but like… I remember playing Diablo 2 as a kid and just chilling and grinding monsters while chatting with friends. Is there anything like that but indie 2024? Has to be online.

Edit: the vibe is sorta like how people play Fortnite or something. I guess Minecraft and Valheim are like that. But I don’t want to build anything. Unless maybe Sims is online. And indie.
