Where are the prestige RPGs where other characters romance you?

okay so i was in an electronic thrift store thing and they had something labelled ā€œps2 motion controllerā€ or something similar, and it appeared to be two wrist straps that were attached by automatically retracting strings (like a lanyard kinda) to a base station. or something like that, i was too overwhelmed to recall all the details

but i did pull on one of the strings, and i assume the length that the string was pulled out at any given time was the only real input into this device.

but a quick google shows me nothing like this

does anyone have any fucking idea what this could have been? consider that they might have labeled it wrong or i might have misread it

Are the switch ports of Baldurs Gate 1&2 worth getting over the PC versions? (no interest in mods, struggled with the PC version of Planescape but found the switch version much more palatable to give an idea)

all the console/mobile ports of beamdog games are fine. im glad the switch can compensate for how boring planescape is.

idk how character importing from.bg1 → bg2 works on console but that is something you should look into, because it’s hard to imagine caring about bg2 if you have to start over

one of the only reasons that P:S combat is even tolerable is that the nameless one is the only offensive mage worth using and the horrible infinity engine AI can at least manage to autoattack and heal so you aren’t leaving that much on the table by just letting it rip

Is it the one that looks like the NES Advantage? If so, the bad news is that a lot of seimitsu sticks don’t fit in it. The only one I’ve found that does is the LS 55, which can be a pain to find.

Edit: this is where I got mine, and they get them somewhat regularly if they are out of stock when you try to get one: SEIMITSU LS-55-01 Joystick – Arcade Shock

I have some kind of seimitsu stick lying around not sure which could bring it for ButCon.

So how did Linus Tech Tips get cancelled?

A few unrelated fucked up things came up prompted by a Gamer’s Nexus video. Here’s the timeline of events AFAIK

  • Gamers Nexus posted a video about LTT taking shortcuts in reviews which included incorrectly reviewing a prototype by Billet Labs that LTT auctioned off at their LTX
  • This brought up an old story where the LTT community harassed a kid named MindChop and ruined his youtube channel. The kid commited suicide and then so did his mom and his dad posted on the LTT reddit. (wtf??)
  • Then an old intern named Madison Suop brought up why she left which included a fucked up work environment and sexual harassment. Audio was leaked about this stuff and it’s revealed a pretty gross company culture.

honestly the channel’s content always had massive red flag energy all over it for me

it’s also pretty telling that their apology video is all about improving procedures so that everyone other than Linus does their job properly while he is allowed to do whatever the hell he wants without thinking for two seconds about it first

So got a bit of the PS5/Samsung tv technical issue I can only halfway sort out, figured I’d run it by those here to see if anyone is familiar with it or has any ideas.

Basically when I switched inputs on my Samsung tv to the PS5 yesterday when it did the ā€œgame mode onā€ screen change deal everything came up very… I guess pink? Basically anything that was supposed to be bright red was a sort of middling pink, and various other colors were various shades of off as well. I unplugged the USB and plugged it back in and it was fine.

Same thing popped up today, except whenever game mode switched back on things got screwey in the exact same way. Googling told me messing with HDR would perhaps fix this, messed around with various combos and at the end of the day with game mode off it seemed to no longer be an issues.

I can live without game mode I am pretty sure (the only game I played on PS5 where I noticed lag was Hollow Knight, generally I only notice it when excessive) but I am curious if anyone has any idea what may have been up and if there’s an obvious fix I am overlooking. Or if my TV or PS5 is about to die I guess I’d like to know that too.

(Just checked and it was a Samsung Class 8 Series Smart Tizen TV model # UN43TU8000FXZA in case that matters.)

Just like how I knew that maga synth guy was trouble from the get go because tried to call a boring ass song Cop Killer when Body Count’s Cop Killer was right there, I’ve got no time for a dude name Linus using his first name as his tech personality branding when he sure as shit didn’t write the Linux kernel.

Maybe try replacing the cable. Discoloration can be caused by a bad HDMI cable and cables can degrade over time.

As for why a cable problem would only show up in game mode, perhaps the leisurely pace of non-game mode is more tolerant of a low-quality signal. Just a theory, but relatively cheap to test.

I got a spare HDMI or two around here so I’ll check it out tomorrow, thanks for the idea!

what are good dungeon crawler/blobber games on vita or psp. I tried elminage original (it’s fine I guess), operation abyss and ray gigant which both immediately started annoying me with their writing, and demon gaze which had an obnoxious amount of titty in it. im gonna try stranger of sword city since the art is slightly more normal
