According to some reddit wiki

https://www.reddit.com/r/8bitdo/wiki/arcadestick/

the LS-40 is not compatible with the 8bitdo arcade stick (don’t know how relevant this is to your older model); it references this post about it

https://www.reddit.com/r/8bitdo/comments/k43lwp/beautiful_nice_stick_and_a_disappointment/

This post

https://www.reddit.com/r/fightsticks/comments/oiv8i3/best_seimitsu_for_8bitdo/

says “If you drill a hole in the bottom, you can fit any Seimitsu stick in there you want.”

Also that Wiki page has links that say they show how to do stuff.

If you had a, like, regular arcade stick, it would generally be a cinch to undo a few case screws or something, pop it open, and swap in whatever lever you wanted, although some of the more exotic ones might need a mounting plate converter to line up the screw holes.

reminds me of this old @Sleazy tweet

i had an alternate suggestion of games like Atlantis No Nazo/Kid Chameleon and i tried different names for it like “NoNazoMeleon” but they were all too hard to say

Kid Atlanteans

Kid Chameleon is more of a shitty puzzle platformer though, right? It’s Mario but with the addition of unwinnable situations if you lose the proper hat.

I wrote that damn FKW thing about that Atlantis game and I totally forgot it was anything like that.

thank you

like, i can do it but honestly i was really hoping to avoid having to buy a new stick just for the purpose of gutting it and doing all the shit DIY where there’s a decent chance i’ll fuck it up lol

it is a damn shame that there is no way to just buy a fucking stick with seimitsu parts without having to do all this crap

I swapped out my Hori RAP4’s parts for all Seimitsu parts two years ago and I didn’t have to do anything special for it? I think it just depends on a case by case basis

There was a brief window of time when it was possible.
Hori used to have special editions with sanwa parts and special editions with seimitsu parts.
but that was back in the ps2 era.

It’s a shame they stopped doing that.

If I have a bunch of PS2/PS3/Gamecube games what’s the easiest way to turn them into ISOs and emulate them…?

I don’t know if it’s any good at all, but the one I managed to Google up was

But as Sakurina says, it’s super easy to put whatever arcade parts you want in most standard fightsticks.

You pretty much have to do it with Hori sticks these days anyway 'cause they ship with their own knock-off levers and buttons.

Has there ever been a full investigation into the mechanical differences between the original NES SMBs & the SNES Allstars collection?

Inquiring minds etc

there are many resources discussing differences (tcrf, mariowiki, etc.) but i think this link is potentially definitive and what you are likely looking for

Thank you. The temptation to read this before playing SMB3 both NES then Allstars is too much but I must resist for science

Man, TheMushroomKingdom.net was one of my favorite sites in 1999 and it’s still going strong

The Nintendo shop is slow and hideously designed on first impressions but was generally wondering if there’s better online resources for game listings and such besides just using my PC?
