Some PSX, Saturn and N64 sports games. I donā€™t know which ones, but they sound pleasant.

this is always my answer by the way. I want everyone to internalize this so whenever they see a CRT they hear a little daphny in the back of their head screaming SKATE OR DIE 2 RAMP MODE NOW!!!

Warlords

And whenever you yell about skate or die 2 ramp mode, I am going to hear Siamese Dream in my head because I bought those on the same day as a kid.

Has Freedom Planet 2 been patched with a mode that skips all the dialogue yet?

It has that optionā€¦ once you beat the game with story the first time.

Naturally if you play on PC there are both mods and tips on how to quickly mod your save game to bypass that.

Was the Xbox/Dreamcast Rent-A-Hero anything?

my friend @ty is trying to identify a game they claim a youtuber we both know has played through but i genuinely donā€™t think iā€™ve ever seen it or heard of it. so i figured iā€™d ask here before they go crazy trying to remember what it is.

this is how they described it:

Itā€™s like third person and in 3D and everything is kinda sandy foggy colored and you have to reach warps that end up going to places that make no sense and you donā€™t expect. It was a bunch of concrete buildings and weird warps. like it was unfinished and kind of ps1 looking. this game was probably closer to like Ico than anything, vibewise. i think the protagonist was some kind of blue guy. And it has either an accidental or intentional unfinished feeling. I think it was supposed to seem like a beta of a real game. i genuinely cannot remember if its a beta of an old game that wasnt finished or an indie game that was intended to feel unfinished.

this sounds a lot like fox junction, though the other parts donā€™t. maybe itā€™s possible theyā€™re combining multiple games in their memory?

maybe! hopefully i can get @ty to identify more about the game. they seemed to think it was probably a newer game though.

something more modern, indie, and still in development that comes to mind is pareidolia in ā–ˆā–„ā–ˆā–ˆā–„ā–„

Oh man yeah my delusion has now been dragged into the public eye. I am only 30% sure I dreamed this game, I think I watched someone playing it on YouTube, something that Rossā€™s Game Dungeon or ThorHighHeels might have played (but I canā€™t see anything familiar looking through their videos). Itā€™s a fully 3d game with a strong verticality element. The player navigates large surreal spaces with a kind of desert concrete vibe if I recall, I think it may have been an unfinished vintage game of some kind that is in a slightly playable state. If it would help I could draw scenes of it from memory. I donā€™t have much more than that other than either the game or the person playing it was warping to various indoor and outdoor locations, there was some platforming, but a strong sense of interior vastness and emptiness. Good suggestions so far but none of them are it.
