how do you earn enough of these platinum nintendo coins to get anything cool? they expire so it seems impossible to get 600 from getting like 20 a month for being subscribed to a newsletter (i think thats how i got any after the first ones they gave me to start with (??))
does anyone have any recs for good kung fu movies? i watched the raid 1 and 2 recently, and iâd love to watch like an old jackie chan movie or sth, preferably chinese rather than american.
loved righting wrongs, which got a new bluray release in the past couple years sometime. starring yuen biao and directed by corey yuen, who were both in the same 7 little fortunes performing troupe as jackie chan. as well as cynthia rothrock in what might be her best role!
I watched Heroes of the East recently and that movie is so fun. Itâs just a good olâ martial arts are so cool time. A Japanese woman gets married by arrangement to a Chinese man and they get into spousal arguments about whether Chinese or Japanese martial arts are better. Itâs directed by Lau Ker Leung who later did drunken master 2 so you know itâs gonna be sick
For that matter, if youâve never seen Drunken Master II itself (which is not a direct sequel to anything) you might consider it as well. Its reputation as a classic is well-earned in my opinion, and itâs a Jackie Chan vehicle from Hong Kong. Itâs from 1994 which might not be quite old enough for what youâre seeking, but as you might hope for from a Jackie Chan film, it has jaw-dropping ârawâ stunts and acrobatics that also tend to be very funny. Set in the late Qing dynasty, Chan plays the neâer-do-well adult son of a respected local martial arts instructor, who accidentally ends up in the crosshairs of a colonial conspiracyâŚwith complicated results.
well I have to launch it in a window before going to full screen for some reason but it works now, with hd crt shader even. for some reason the default setup it came as with nglide (from gog) nothing Iâd do in any of the settings seemed to change anything
Canât remember if I asked this before. Anybody have any experience with transcription software or services? I have a few audio files with a voice recording plus a moderate level of background noise, and the total length is somewhere around 32 hours. Iâd like to convert the voice recording to text, but thatâs more than a weekend of work if I try to do it myself
there are quite a few AI service offerings in this department (AssemblyAIâs core transcription product is pretty good but iirc they mostly want larger-volume users so you may not find it that convenient to actually pay for, Otter AI is pretty popular too though theyâve had privacy issues), though if youâd otherwise be doing it on your own and you can follow the whisper docs to the point of getting it running on a GPU-enabled machine, I would just use whisper
One of my coworkers let me use his trint account, and it seemed to handle both super clean audio and stuff with a little bit of background noise equally.
The interface for correcting the transcripts is pretty nice too.
