I know Helldivers 2 didnât hit so hard from trailers but the letâs plays look good. Like âoh yeah itâs still helldiversâ good. Is anyone else feeeling that? Can we select play this thing together?

Iâve been surprised by how itâs taking off as well. I knew Helldivers was popular back in the day, but itâs been so long that I didnât expect it to still be popular. From what Iâve seen of it, it looks like it could be some decent fun. I have only ever played Helldivers once, for maybe an hour last year via PS Now, so I donât know what itâs overall structure is. Is it just about plopping into randomly generated maps and shooting stuff for fun, or is there like an actual campaign or mission structure to âbeatâ?

itâs always been, you drop in on a planet either alone or with your fellow divers/liabilities, do missions or kill each other trying and the objectives you accomplish fill up a global bar for the current running campaign and then once that fills, you dive onto homeworlds and congratulations, you have spread managed democracy to another part of the galaxy
then it starts all over again

canât find my chromecast remote
now i could just use my tv remote with cec and yeah ok but this is bugging me and it has batteries so what if itâs somewhere precarious like stuck down the side of a radiator or something
i was thinking maybe i could find this shit with btle, but would it only show up in scans if itâs in pairing mode / actively being used? the chromecast ui just says âdisconnectedâ all the time including when i hit connect there so i wonder if itâs been accidentally thrown out lol
Has anyone played Rogue Heroes? Just ran the first dungeon and it was very fun.

yeah iâm the only person i know with anything positive to say about it apparently, iâve got an older bravia and aside from the chromecast sometimes being named âplayer twoâ (?) in the ui itâs been flawless

Iâm kind of amazed by how modern fancy LG smart tv was able to just instantly control my PS3 via the remote making it hassle free to use as a bluray player now that I donât need to keep making sure I have a PS3 controller charged whenever.

Are there good game dev hobbist communities around? I have been in a few, one of which disintegrated and the other one was Glorious Trainwrecks, which I havenât exactly outgrown, but donât exactly fit in either. Every other game dev community seems focused on getting steam wishlists and doing the hustle grind culture thing.

but 4 real, i have also been wishing to find out about a stronger community of hobbyists for me to hook into. there was a bit of a loose community on twitter involving john thyer (guy who wrote that post), kate barrett, sylvie, and other people in their/our orbit that would show up in each otherâs mentions. but thatâs of course gone now and there is no real âhub,â and most indie game spaces are grindset mindset âhave you tried streaming your gamedev?â âtry steam early accessâ types. not sure where all my hobbyist people âare.â
the alt games (basically glorious trainwrecks) discord, as much as i love many of the people there, ainât it
