Any recs for weird/cool/interesting/cheap Japanese-exclusive PS1, PS2 or PS3 games?
The magic of the Japanese PS1 library is that there is always one more game. Just go down a list, pick things at random, watch videos of them. Youtube probably has at least one 10 minute video of every commercially released game from the 20th century by now.

I really like this ps2 game, Tori no Hoshi - Aerial Planet. My japanese is pretty poor but once I figured out what I was doing it was like a dream game. Arcadey sci fi gliding sim combined with birdwatching game, weird alien birds, light ecological themes. Just wonderful stuff. You gotta figure out how to imitate bird calls in order to find the right birds to follow to the next area. It is a shame it never got a translation
Woah, the colors are so bright in that Dr. Slump game! That’s a rare sight on the PS1.
Pochi to Nyaa is a great and easy-to-learn block dropper. Watch out for how fast the CPUs get, though.
triggering pochi & nyaa are some of the best gifs ever made, imho
did you know save games in the old hitman games have information about your computer at the time tied to the them so if you try to play them on a different machine the game logic is completely busted, I didn’t either but I sure found out
What’s the best way to do voice chat for online multiplayer where two players are in one location? Specifically we want incoming audio through one source for both of us and need our outgoing audio to work for both of us in close proximity (presumably through one device?).
We were playing PS5 MonHun on the TV, PS5 group chat on a yeti corded next to the sofa, and PC MonHun (muted) on a handheld device. They were getting their own voice and the TV audio which I thought would have been canceled via the PS5 but I guess wasn’t? I think we could do discord but we didn’t try that…
I’m pretty sure we can do the PC on the TV and remote play into the PS5 if that helps.
Are you required to use the game’s built-in voice-chat, or are you able to coordinate with the remote players to use a different solution?
If you aren’t forced to use the built-in support, that will open up more and better options. For example, Discord has good software echo cancellation.
In terms of hardware, I would suggest researching stuff marketed especially for conference-room business meetings, which has similar needs.
