While I can certainly write a longer post: i just finished The Bouncer in 2 hours or whatever. Is that it? Or if I want to play a weird mediocre belt scroller again?
Maybe time to finally try dungeon mode in Tobal No 2.
Any recommendation for how to play The Void by Ice Pick Lodge on modern PC’s? I get a notice saying “Can’t create game module: can’t load engine library” and I changed comparability to XP SP3 like the internet says and it didn’t work.
You’ve already had the best possible way to experience the Void but if you want to inflict further suffering on yourself, try installing the PhysX Legacy drivers
The Void is perhaps the purest expression of Nikolay Dybowski’s virulent misogyny, not being able to launch the game is a better experience than playing it
Dybowski was the former head of Ice Pick Lodge and was forced to step down after it came out that he repeatedly beat his wife, kidnapped his son, and had a habit of raping teenage girls.
it was his studio, of course he worked on it, it was icepicks second game. the void is literally about how women suck the life out of you, the store page basically alludes to as much in its description of the game. please don’t play the violent rapists misogynist videogame. honestly icepick should probably remove it from sale
has anyone been able to emulate gravity rush 1 on a pc or does it still need something with gyro controls?
only gyro-enabled ps game ive tried was folklore which used them for seemingly the 1 ghostbuster sucking activity and iirc there was just a patch in the emulator to handle that automatically, not sure how it’d work here (or if it’d still be worth trying?)
not too many these days afaik but there used to be some good used game stores in the shopping mall complex under/just north of the main train station. i went to a really great flea market in kaosiung but i can’t remember which one it was there probably aren’t that many and i’m sure any of them would be interesting lol. maybe Nei Wei Flea Market 內惟跳蚤市場 ?
i think 啊 is normal and i wouldn’t worry about using it. i guess you can kind of try to read the room to a certain degree, unless you’re like giving a business presentation i wouldn’t stress about not sounding formal enough in most regular contexts. my general feel is that modal particles make you sound less rude, not more, but also maybe a bit more casual
were the people who told you 呢 sounds gay taiwanese? i’ve never heard this one before. i do sort of feel like everything taiwanese people say sounds a little gay to non taiwanese people
i went to one videogame/tech zone in Taipei and it blew chunks lol. just a bunch of switch stores and overpriced laptops. however, i did notice this place and this place right next to each other and they seem legit. i have one more stretch in Taipei (in 4 different hotels because of holiday scheduling reasons lmao) so maybe I’ll be able to find a minute to check them out.
looking at it, the Vita version is listed as playable on Vita3K’s list but the emulator doesn’t support multitouch on PC unless you’re playing on a Steam Deck (or presumably any device with an actual touchscreen), which you need because the command for sliding is holding on the bottom corners
They were mainlanders. They also told me that 小姐 doesn’t mean “miss” anymore. That’s just slang for prostitute. I confirmed that with other Chinese people, but I never asked about ne. I tried to see if anyone is talking about it online and I’m coming up with nothing. It’s making me wonder if I misremembered what the code for gayspeak or maybe those teachers were just stuck in a microgenerational limbo and the knowledge doesn’t apply anymore.
