i do have good news though

this works!

What’s a good GBA pokemon hack? On a boring work trip from tomorrow.

I think the last one I played was liquid crystal.

Have the special games for the megadrive mini 2 been dumped yet?

so yeah, i’ll look into this:

presumably eBay is the best place to find replacement parts? or is there a site that specializes in that kind of thing?

so after a quick trip to Videogamesnewyork, i picked up a $15 third-party PS2 controller and it works great. the build and feel of the controller kind of sucks, but i’m relieved to know that my PS2s aren’t the problem.

eBay refunded me on the broken OEM PS2 controller i bought, so now i feel like it could be fun to try repairing it.

A decade ago, i mended two broken (aqua blue) dualshocks into one 0.45 perfect one, and that has been my P2 pad since then … not sure if it’s still working tbh :tarothink:

(edit: too quick to post:
idk if there are sellers who specifically sell solo bits, but if you can get a broken controller for cheap, might as well try your luck!)

Do the Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Ridge Racer games fit what you’re looking for?

Option Tuning Car Battle Spec-R also looks kind of nice

Wow, I always remembered that as a PS2 game. It was ahead of its time!

does the wii u port of tank tank tank let you play multiplayer on a single console with multiple screen controllers?

actually, is that a thing wii u games do in general?

i guess the question is: is it worth seeking out a wii u and a few controllers for cheap, for the purpose of multiscreen local multiplayer? (but i especially want to know about tank tank tank)

Can’t speak to that game in particular, but usually yes, Wii U games were encouraged to support local multiplayer using Wiimotes as the controller. The tablet controller was sometimes available as an alternate controller, or sometimes it would have additional functionality—remembering here that the Wii U Just Dance game in which Wiimotes were for the dancing players, but someone could use the tablet to take photos or video that would be shown on-screen during or after play.

I read it as does it work with multiple tablets/“Wii U Gamepads” but never was in a situation to see if it did support that. the few chances i got to try tankx3 multi were always some combination of pro controllers and wiimotes

Oh yeah, the “multiple gamepads” question. As I understand, the Wii U doesn’t support more than one tablet to be linked at once, but they were really coy about confirming this and I don’t know whether the possibility got added eventually, perhaps via third party hardware alterations.

aw that kinda sucks

i guess i’ll go for plan b: seeing what cool multiplayer stuff i can find for 3ds

They never sold the screen pad seperately. There is a one to one ratio with the console itself. So doubt it.

Kind of felt like keeping my wii u purely because of that wrinkle.

Hackers found some functionality that could have supported two gamepads but it was never used
