if you or anyone else is interested, my favourite streamers have started going through the entire CDi library from a-z (they have streamed from real cdi hardware many times but switched to mame because it’s more reliable lol)
also i think a lot of people here would fit in the community, since one of the hosts is non-binary and the other is a trans furry
Is Inscryption actually fun and clever or is it going to crash to a fucking dos prompt and go HEY PLAYER You should suck off a dog. Did you know video games…could be evil and fucked and haunted. Just try to quit me hahaha- like every one of these 4th wall breaking games including the studio’s previous shlock.
i hated it.
it almost hits on something interesting, in being an actually cool way of showing how deck building in card games can be fun, by making it super easy and intended to break and find rad combos. but the meta layer is all boring and it just goes on so long it becomes 3 bad card games instead of one neat little thing.
it’s clear they have a pretty good grasp on magic (/other card games) and the ways it’s graceful and it riffs on that in some ways that are fun if you’re into it, and it will do things like make some small shifts in the rules/mechanics of the game from section to section to fundamentally make it a different game while keeping the same skeleton all the way through, that was sort of fun, but it’s compromised by being long and easy, they should have gone with one or the other there at most imo. the first lurches into the larger story are nice when they’re surprising and weird but my eyes started rolling pretty quick as things were stretched out
comically strong first hour or two though imo. i’m not surprised they made that a demo. maybe even just play that lol
I’ll agree with @bib and say that the first act is a good time but after that, my reaction was mostly, “huh, neat.” I did like one of the jokes at the end though. The whole world is breaking down and the last “boss” of the game comes up against you. You are now wearing a duel disk and you play, like, 10 rounds of the most tedious card game. It’s good.
i thought it was alright from what i played. not as deep as some people want to make it out and if you don’t like that style of deck building games i wouldn’t say it’s worth it. but i also i thought the deck building aspect was pretty well designed and interesting in spots and don’t think the appeal of the game was just pure hype/hot air or anything.
just curious, what kind of numbers are we talking about here, the only time when i investigated Amazon hosting for a work-related project is six years in the past now, and the world surely has moved on significantly by now
does anyone know if any Nick Arcade games ever entered into any archive? I wonder if they can be accessed, played or emulated. I kind of doubt any of them were actual games or even playable.
still like to help out for keeping the shop running, so if you don’t mind, drop me a pm and file me in on the details (hope you/your bank can accomodate old-school people that use 20th Century wire transfers, that is)
What’s the DS model to buy/hack at this point? My son was using an old hacked 3DS lite I had to mainly play Kirby games but it got dropped one too many times and the backlight on the top screen broke and I’m not sure which of these models between another 3DS lite, ds light, DSi, DSi XL to get.
