try it again, I had to move it to port 42069 because my ISP blocks 445
thatās what I was using!
hmmmmmmmmmmm
Iāll try it from your apartment next time Iām there to mount your TV
is there a shortage of xbox controllers at the moment or something, can only find the elite anywhere and they seem unreliable (though i could get amazonās three year warranty idk)
Amazon shows the plain black Xbox core controller as shipping within 5 days for me. Thatās a bit on the slow side so thereās probably a minor supply issue, but basically it looks available?
might be a uk thing, theyāre out everywhere iād usually look
hot damn, FF7R looks SO good with HDR on a TV that isnāt a liar, wow
FH5 isnāt bad either but itās a lot more muted in its use of the colour range, while FF7R really shows off the difference between paper white and peak nits
Oh yeah, Squareās HDR has been really good, too. Final Fantasy XV does some great stuff with HDR. Just make sure to leave off the nasty early DLSS.
I own a Big Enough TV that nominally supports HDR except itās visually almost indistinguishable from not having it on and I often struggle with the fact that I could own a bigger tv with way better screen and colour but it would cost me like $1000 to buy an incrementally different version of a device I already have thatās basically fine, and that just seems like a terrible use of money. Anyone else have this problem?
I feel like I need an undiscovered wealthy relative to just buy me a super nice tv because I will never be able to justify the expense of buying one for myself. I genuinely enjoy being visually wowed but I hate flushing money down the unending drain of non-critical device improvement
i had some issues getting one a few weeks back. they seem to come in and out of stock, i ended up getting one from 365games, which was the only place selling them below rrp at all.
Iāve got eShop credit to burn, and curiosity about Diablo III (having never played any installment of the series)
Would I be a huge rube if I bought this port of a pretty old PC game (itās currently on sale for 50% off)
edit: answering myself, YES, who do I think I am and how much time do I think Iāve got
Thanks Select Button I knew youād talk some sense into me
Diablo 3 suuuuuucks is my opinion
for some reason I think diablo 2 is a more fun adventure game if you play it just once
I think Iām just drawn to it more than the older ones because over the past few years I seem to have lost the last shreds of patience I have for oldschool PC game UI and such. I basically ran screaming from every game Iāve ever purchased through GoG, for example
I hear ya. I wonder if that remastered D2 would be updated enough for your sensibilities. But anyhow, itās probably not as cheap as D3 on sale.
3 was surprisingly fun on console local co-op in like 2011 when they ported it
I think itās outstayed its welcome in every other context
At least one fairly well-written Reddit post suggests maybe not, and also that it seems to suffer a bit from being ported to console as well, damning it doubly. I might just hold off. Lord knows I have enough other options. I do have The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing in my Steam library, maybe thatāll satisfy my curiosity on this particular vein of gaming.
edit: Yikes nvm some of the stuff people are saying in the reviews sounds aggravating as hell
I had a lot of fun with PC Diablo 3 at release (with auction house!) I bought the switch port like 10 years later and stopped 20 minutes in. Frankly, the world has progressed past the need for Diablo 3, the systems arenāt bad but itās super ugly and soulless and it takes so long to get going
also Diablo 2 is free to play and inherently prettier to look at
one of these days im actually gonna try diablo 1 and 2
2 is ok but safely skippable, 1 is a non-replaceable experience to understand a certain moment in pc gaming
