I watched a trailer for the upcoming Lost in Abyss game yesterday, and it reminded me of a feature-length anime I watched on Netflix or Funimation’s YouTube channel sometime between 2013 and 2017. It had a similar setting to Made in Abyss: a big gaping pit with a community living around its rim. But I think the pit was lined with old rusted girders.
I think the protagonist finds a sleeping magical girl in the bottom of the pit along with some sort of high tech weapon, which he uses to fight off an invading army that’s after the girl… or something.
Anyone know what this movie is called?
EDIT: Looks like it was Origin: Spirits of the Past, and I misremembered the scale and form of the ruins as a big gaping pit.
Anyone here recommend this? You Died deluxe hardcover (black cloth edition) – Tune & Fairweather I quite like the idea of a written breakdown of the souls era and their internal function but also published game crit is a complete crapshoot especially for what they’re charging.
Im kind of a box keeping freak but mostly on stuff I plan to sell or that might need padding for a move. I however have like attics and stuff to fill with kindeling. I assume japanese apartments are different
I watched a Sonic The Hedgehog 1 long play on YouTube one time with someone narrating with a real chill voice. I’m almost positive it was linked here and may have been a video made by an SBer. Does anyone know what this is or have a link?
Years and years ago on the selectbutton IRC I announced I was gonna sit down and play through Sonic 1 and get the emeralds. I got a lot of “good lucks”.
I did not get all the emeralds. I barely finished the game. I think about those good lucks every time I play Sonic 1.
the idea of there being no payoff from collecting all 6(?) emeralds feels like a joke in hindsight, though I actually like the sonic 1 special stages (this is one of so many respects in which all 3 original titles are severely uneven and mania is fantastic as the only credible attempt at putting together a single solid release in maybe the whole series)
fair to maybe imagine that it’s bugged and they just left one out
yes, but mastering is kind of tricky, purely because there aren’t a lot of tools that scaffold the whole process like there were for DVDs. you shouldn’t need to reencode unless some strange decisions were made about the audio or aspect ratio, but you’ll need to create the filesystem image in a particular way
Sonic’s such a different game without the spindash. Instead of “gotta go fast” it’s “gotta patiently backtrack and build momentum first”. Also “gotta go on the high path because sometimes the lower speedway sends you direct into a bottomless pit”. I love Sonic 1
