oh I weirdly have a half-speed switch installed on one of my DMGs so I could have gotten lower octaves on basslines
I never used it lol

This is late but yes analogues can handle the voltage differences fine which is one of the many reasons they are worth getting if you are a true doom flashcart head
Eh, itās alright I guess. Iāve been meaning to go back to it but the writing felt fairly typical anime visual novel stuff and the battle system, while an interesting presentation, wasnāt particularly engaging at length. It was still the beginning of the game so the battle system could get better but the storytelling seemed fairly run of the mill despite a small quirky character here and there.
why didnāt they just call the diablo series witchcraft
how do i bong

nice

anyone know much about this
can we rez the furry thread
So Iāve started an account here but for some reason I canāt start a new topic. Do I need to do a certain number of replies first before I can post a topic, or is there some other step Iām missing? Iāve tried to figure this out on my own but I canāt seem to find the information Iām looking for. My apologies if its in a really obvious place and I just overlooked it.
Yes.
Ah, thank you very much. I shall try to make the best posts that I can to contribute to the community!
two questions:
how taxing is saturn emulation on relatively budget laptops currently? i want to play panzer dragoon saga this year but donāt know if i should wait until i have a better computer to do so.
this is more subjective, but re: translation, what is the consensus on the best way to play final fantasy tactics? original translation or the fft complete hack (with the wotl script)? i always heard that the original (which i played a bit) was incomprehensible and the wotl version was more accurate but lately iāve seen criticisms of the latter.
my laptop was like, $400 3 years ago and it runs saturn stuff fine. I assume this means it is equivalent to a modern day toaster
I donāt think there will ever be a agreed upon consensus for this. If debating which to play yourself Iād say load up a cutscene compilation of both and compare a few scenes. I figure youād pretty quickly be able to decide which you find most tolerable.
SSF ran on like an athlon XP, I think saga probably needs a slightly more modern emulator but you should still be able to get away with the pretty trivial requirements of yabause rather than having to use a mednafen/beetle Saturn derivative, which is the only thing any current machine would be at risk of not running
I abstain from latter question but I think @haley can help
Mom and bro are visiting shortly. What tabletop/board games would yāall recommend for four people to learn and play in a few hours each?
Original script isnāt incomprehensible, just hurried like most localizations at the time. WotL is overwrought faux-Shakespearean and more distracting than the occasional odd syntax or typo in my opinion.
Letter Jam is a cooperative word game that sidesteps all of the pressure-intensive issues games like Scrabble have; rules are simple but youāll need to reiterate that everyone is working together and not trying to stump each other. Itās my favorite broad audience game in a few years.
Hanabi is still the classic. Cooperative card sorting game where the players hold their cards facing outward so they see everyoneās cards except their own. On a turn, they can either play/discard a card or spend a token to give another player a clue about whats in that playerās hand. Otherwise no talking about whatās in hand!
Wonderful game
Edit: when you say tabletop are you including rpgs and story games?
In that case I vote Dialect, a very accessible and fascinating game about building dialects!
Yeah, as long as we can pick it up quickly. My mom is a nerd and former mathlete but never got into RPGs.
Not to self promo TOO much but you can also check out one of my games, Mayhaps & Mishaps, which is how I would redesign Baron Munchausen by 2020 standards
Itās designed for single session play, its a bit improv-heavy but there are a lot of tools to make improvising easier built into the rules, and its a game about foolish wizards trying to one up each other.
