I suppose then that the cheapskate option would be to move the originals over to my computer manually which is a relatively easy process and then upload reduced quality ones (to then download those back to my phone so I can access them without using a bunch of data?)

Yeah that sounds like a good plan. Maybe in combination with leaving some the videos exclusively on your desktop if that brings your drive space over the top of your current cloud storage limit
The lossy compression mode of Google photos probably only harms the quality noticeably if the photos came from an excellent camera in the first place. Here’s a comparison:

they already changed it this month so that it uses the same storage pool as Gmail which makes me very glad I’ve been on iCloud for photos for a a few years now (even though the Windows client remains comically bad) because I’d be hosed

there’s a thread for it but i was fairly underwhelmed. the combat isn’t terrible although i will add there’s a lot of taking damage while you’re in mid-animation with no indication of it other than having to keep an eye on your health bar, not even like a sound effect or anything
Looking at the Epic Game Store sale that ends midday tomorrow and pondering picking up Carrion or A Monster’s Expedition for $4.99/$5.99 (with the $10 coupon). If anyone has a feel that one is the better choice than the other due to either quality or cost now would be the time to yell at me about it.
Didn’t much care for Carrion; think A Monster’s Expedition is much better.

i personally prefer Cosmic Express as someone who has played both that and A Monster’s Expedition. it’s discrete puzzles instead of open but i liked the puzzles better. but i think that was on one of the itch.io bundles already.
