Oh no, conflicting advice lol
not important enough to post in the other thread but a vg thing i think about a lot is how the name ājust causeā is a pun about having a justified cause for doing something and doing something ājust (be)causeā, as the latter seems to be what the game is actually about
If you want to fight for a just cause, turn to page 3. If you want to fight just 'cuz, turn to page 4.
i couldnāt play just cause 4 because it tried to make me do superman 64 stuff so the game would get more fun uh excuse me no
in general I think just cause is probably one of the most underrated top tier open world games, for what thatās worth, but yeah, 4ās early mission design really rubbed me the wrong way and wading through the intro to a very similar sequel to a big game I already played was not appealing, though I understand it opens up after that.
is it humanly possible in 2021 to get any sort of 4K@60hz, no-downsampling HDMI switcher, preferably which has ports on the back?
or are they exclusively sludge?
You canāt go wrong with either since theyāre essentially the same game but hereās a quick and loose breakdown between the two:
-
Just Cause 3 is prettier and higher resolution at the cost of poorer overall performance due to CPU bottlenecking.
-
Just Cause 4 runs a lot smoother at the cost of lower asset resolutions making for a less crisp, slightly muddier looking game.
-
Both games have jetpack wingsuit DLC that let you fly around shooting and bombing like Iron Man. By this point you can also find ācompleteā versions for each game that are regularly on sale which include all the DLC + Expansions.
-
Just Cause 4 has much faster load times and much less time spent loading after failing a mission.
-
Just Cause 3 has a mech assault DLC with a couple cool chunky mechs that wreck stuff good.
-
Just Cause 4 has a cool car combat DLC with 10+ weaponized vehicles (sports cars, buggies, trucks and the like) and 3 game modes (Survival, Stunt Run and Rampage). This mode was probably inspired by Just Cause 3ās weaponized vehicle DLC pack (which was just three vehicles: armed versions of the sport car, buggy and speed boat).
-
Just Cause 4 has a fancy weather simulation that lets you control tornadoes.
-
Both games feature expansion packs that increase the footprint of the map in some way. Just Cause 3 partitions parts of the sea and sky to include a sea fortress area and a sky fortress area, and adds a new island chain with four regions for the mech stuff. Two of the Just Cause 4 expansions add new island landmasses.
-
The second expansion for Just Cause 4 has you fighting giant, flying insects.
-
The final expansion for Just Cause 4 includes a hoverboard like Back to the Future.
no idea but this thread may be useful: shmups.system11.org ⢠View topic - I recommend this HDMI Equipment for OSSC + 4K60 18Gbps
Just started SaGa Frontier, does the character you choose at the start lock you into one story for the whole game, or do you have to do everyone one by one?
everyone one by one; most charactersā stories are only like 4-10 hours long each depending on how familiar you are with the game.
some of them are pretty bad first choices though since they give you minimal direction through the world for your first time through, and worse, youād wind up playing the more guided ones later when you donāt need the handholding as much. Iād strongly recommend starting with Red or T260G, doing Blue and Asellus next, and Riki and Lute last.
Emelia you can do whenever because her scenario is kind of a busted version of the others
Speaking of which, just how did Square do the impossible and turn SaGa Frontier into a 16:9 game?
The pre-rendered background images from the original, originally made for 4:3, are expanded. The gameās not zoomed-in.
How did they pull that off ? I guess that either:
- The original pre-rendered backgrounds were all large, cropped for the psx
- The SaGa team has redone them from scratch (I doubt it since they look a little grainy, a little ancient)
- The SaGa team has reworked on all the original assets to expand them
All 3 scenarios sound frankly crazy
PS : the game rules
I can see what you mean now, Iād picked Asellus already before writing the above post and itās been a bit confusing wandering around this dark fantasy castle not knowing how to trigger the next event.
I donāt really mind being thrown into the deep end a bit, but will probably go with Red next.
I love how random the game feels, after spending ages in this mystical fantasy purple realm Iām suddenly in some normal looking lobby room with a computer??
Also really need a game that looks exactly like the concept art
Is there anything wrong with using Final Cut Pro vs Premiere or Vegas etc? I have a license from way back but I donāt have any proficiency so Iād rather not learn the wrong program.
Davinci is probably a better time investment if youāre gonna learn something new and I think the free version is probably competitive with that final cut license
Iāve used vegas on and off for years, I find it to be Fully Functional compared to Adobe Premiere. Davinci was impossible to learn for me. Final Cut Proā¦Iāve never used it.
I know a lot of people still like Vegas a ton because it was easy to get and use 10 years ago and I wouldnāt seriously tell anyone to switch up their workflow without a good reason, if you like the old thing then fine, switching sucks, but it is definitely not being maintained like the others nowadays, so if youāre allocating new cognitive investmentā¦
like it couldnāt import h264 natively when I tried to help Cuba with a work thing a couple years ago and I was flabbergasted
The deal where you get Final Cut and Logic for $200 as a student is so good.
I guess Iāll learn Final Cut because Iām unlikely to be in an āAdobe shopā
Modern Final Cut Pro has a very different feel from other video editing software. I think itās incredibly well suited for the ācontent creator grindā and for people with less formal video editing experience, but I would say that if you are learning FCP as a proxy for other video editing suites, less of your workflow and interface knowledge will carry over to other editing suites.
Perfect, thank you Mac friend
