more like stardon’t valley
Probably his bedroom was upstairs but was too old to make the trip anymore
Even the crucifix on the wall doesn’t know what’s going on
yeah stardew valley is uglier than a bunch of rectums so you have to mod it a bit
no it isn’t
the art is fucking perfect for the type of person who wants to make a snes game all by themselves. like it really shows buddy
i still laugh when he put out that ad for a second person and expected them to do 40 jobs
I didn’t think it looked good from screens til I played it so idk
yes, it is. it’s ugly as shit.
Is there some level of consensus on whether the GameCube or Wii versions of Pikmin 1 and 2 are best for first-timers?
Is there a game that’s like farming and selling your crops 75% of the time but then occasionally you get hired to be in some kind of adventuring party and you have to go in a cave and kill monsters and stuff
I’m picturing the plot would be like you’re just an old retired soldier who wants to farm and die but people keep finding you to go solve their problems for you
If this doesn’t exist I should move this to the game ideas thread
Rune Factory isn’t presented as cool as that, but that’s pretty much the game flow, IIRC.
Darklands is pretty much 75 percent doing day labor in medieval germany and going on an adventure once after 20 hours of learning about saints
There’s an upcoming game by the person or team responsible for Fairune that would fit this bill. The game’s called Picontier.
I mean… Stardew Valley has some caves with monsters that you spend maybe 25% of your time in…
Also Recettear and Moonlighter are this but with shopkeeping instead of farming.
you could just really get into growing crops in nier
i think both are pretty great. the wii versions are easier, as using the pointer actually extends your maximum call range, and it’s far easier to flick around to different areas of the screen. however, the wii versions completely disable the old controls; you are 100% forced to use wiimote+nunchuk and you can’t switch between them, which is… why.
so it’s going to come down to whether or not you want to play with motion controls or not, since they are both locked to their default control schemes. there’s some more detail here for the first game if you’re interested:
Moonlighter is flipped though, it’s more like 20% shopkeeping and 80% dungeoneering
Man I should finish that game.
the torneko no daibouken games are roguelikes where you sell stuff you find in dungeons in your shop. they’re from the makers of the shiren series!
ya this is the one i had in mind i think? also i guess maybe stardew valley is this after all
with recettear i can’t think of anything other than my poor recollection of some lost ic’er having like, dangerously pronounced opinions about that game
ugh why isn’t it like 95% shopkeeping and 5% dungeongoing
and the 5% dungeongoing is like, just going to check out what’s there to see what you should be selling
actually it’s 90% shopkeeping and 10% hanging out but also 75% of the shopkeeping is also hanging out
I’ll call it “hanging out”
