Worth to play it like a Halo single player campaign, then quit ignoring the strike and raid tedium

nah the raids are the best part of the game
might as well wait and see what rise of iron is like at this point

if you do get into it, pm rye re: joining the sb clan innit

You have to go through the worst part of the game (and a lot of it) to enable them, so sum total it’s bad and you should stop after the normal campaign unless you love grinding.

The key thing that makes all the non-kool-aid-drinkers negative about Destiny is the image that it’s pure grind. I’m just here to say it’s not and there is a perfectly decent non-grindy 40 hour campaign in there, that nobody ever talks about since that was like the tutorial for them and they spent 1000 hours on bullshit since then.

vanilla destiny was like that yeah
as it currently stands you’d be levelled up enough to do the first two raids halfway through the campaign and pretty much dead on (possibly higher?) than required ll to do the current raid by the end

Yeah Modern Destiny you will level super damn fast especially if you get help.

I enjoyed doing the Taken King stuff and Raids with the PS4 crew but I eventually realized I was not having that much fun doing it over and over again to…get equipment to do this end level thing I had already accomplished…more easily.

I still feel bad if i’m on and see the destiny crew chatting, but I am usually doing whatever the current thing is with my group. This year has been particularly fruitful for “something new to do.”

Destiny is way fucking better than Herman Melville’s The Division.

aye, without any substantial new ~content~ in a year it’s pretty much dead until september

so while there’s definitely a bunch of shit wrong with it, the idea that there’s some kind of enormous grind before you can do the interesting stuff is several expansions and 18 months out of date

definitely working the custom title gimmick itt

Nuts, somehow I missed that there were actually replies.

I actually, meant does anyone know what that strange monster is? I’ve tried googling around but haven’t found something that looks like that from a previous FF.

You’re ability to track things down never fails to astound me. Thanks a lot!

I had no idea FF13 had such bizarro monster designs. It’s pretty much an SMT monster.

Ultimately I took a screenshot of that first menu, then input the first chunk of kana under “BOSS ENEMY” into an online Japanese keyboard and searched on that (branah.com has a button to Google what you’ve typed out). Took just a few minutes from that.

Admittedly that was after trying to bruteforce by sticking English search terms into Google, and also doesn’t take into account the mental/emotional stress of compulsively downloaded images, not to mention the soul-grating effects of subsequent fruitless personal searches. I haven’t worked out how to bill for those yet.

I never owned a SNES so quick question: which emulator is the best at emulating it authentically?

higan/bsnes
mednafen also uses this as its ‘snes core’

that said, the CPU load of these is mildly nuts and you may be better off with snes9x

Maybe if you’re using a Raspberry Pi.

I know it’s not much these days but I have too much appreciation for hacky high level emulation

just don’t use the bsnes accuracy core

there’s zero reason to ever use snes9x now that snes emulation has been nearly perfected
