Pokemon S ☀ N & M 🌙 ON

Yungoos sounds like a DJ name that should be yelled out on a remix. I am totally good with that.

oh my gosh that angry mongoose <3

Pretty solid pokos.

Grubbin means there’s gonna be a new bug type final evolution, and that’s always a welcome development! 'Course, without a mega evolution or a really specific niche, it’s probably not going to stand out against Mega-Scizor, Mega-Heracross, or Mega-Pinsir.

Hopefully it will have an awesome ability or typing or weird move set or something.

Shedinja or gtfo imho

That kind of changeling concept for a bug / fairy-type makes Aburī as wonderfully horrible as it is cute. The normal / dragon type looking extremely doofy as if to justifying the normal typing makes Jijīron also great.

Whoa, I had no idea this was a real bug! I was thinking it was some kinda weird humming bird or something. Thanks for posting that, @r-i.

I’m really digging that little subway train-looking bug and its Vic Viper-esque final evolution. But I especially like that cute electric hedgehog. So many cute guys this gen!

The METAGAME Pokémon

Salandit

  • Category: Toxic Lizard Pokemon
  • Type: Poison/Fire
  • Height: 2’00”
  • Weight: 10.6 lbs.
  • Ability: Corrosion

Salandit has the Corrosion Ability, a new Ability that no other Pokémon has possessed before. With the Corrosion Ability, it becomes possible to inflict the Poisoned status condition even on Steel- and Poison-type Pokémon.

oh man stall hype

Oh shiiiiiit!

Honestly, it feels like all these releases have been about hyping the metagame crowd. I’m seeing lots of electric and fairy types (the most defensive and therefore best typings). Normal/Dragon is pretty cool, too. Not exactly complimentary, but a Ghost immunity for a Fighting weakness is a fun trade–interesting from a team building perspective, especially matched to a defensive type like Dragon.

They should really make some more Fairy/Psychic types. Adding Fairy is kind of the only way to un-nerf Psychic, and there are only two such lineages in the current line-up, one of which is Mr. Mime (who’s actually pretty usable, but not really competitive).

Actually, you could also just greatly restrict Knock Off or make it impossible to be passed on to non-Darks through breeding. I don’t really know how breeding works, but I think that’s how, like, Azumarill can have Knock Off.

Aw man, just look at those mischeivous eyes!

Salandit is def my bro.

I hope he ends up bulky, though a fast poisoner could work… Probably not so much, though. Could be used against Fairies but would ultimately be a wasteful nerf of an awesome ability.

Looks like it’s a special attacker, so if its final form is bulky, my immediate thought–not knowing the full move list–is

Ooooh shit: it’s Fire/Poison, because that means it cannot be poisoned or burned itself! Oh shit: that’s pretty wild. It can only be paralyzed, confused, or frozen, but a fire move breaks the freeze. Damn.

I was gonna say put it behind a substitute to avoid getting statused, but since it can only be paralyzed or confused. I might use that slot or something else.

@all_monsters, as a 'mon who paralyzes and then confuses other 'mon, you could end up with a new niche.

I’m really enjoying watching the progress of all_monsters, glad he’s turned into such a useful dude!

A Ghost / Fairy-type bedsheet shadow, hiding away from sunlight, trying its hardest to make its guise resemble Pikachu because it wants to be as beloved as Pikachu is. What enviable design sense, what self-awareness- it renders recent trip-ups like Dedenne and Mega-Gallade preposterous fever dreams.

Fairy/Ghost is not the best typing.

But that is the best pokemon.

God damn it I really like a lot of the Pokemon designs in this and I had almost sworn off Pokemon again after dipping my toes back in with X/Y

I hope this guy stretches across two DS screens, always
