for some reason I thought this game was already out.
WOW that looks like the pokemon of my (1999 colored) dreams. it comes out right after my birthday!!
pretty good
saw the first row and was rolling my eyes, but then quakstak
My eyes immediately went to Threef, and I was like, “Touche, sir.”
Pokemon def got more interesting when they handed the art design over to Pendleton Ward
In Sun/Moon you’ll get a Pokédex that’s inhabited by a Rotom, the ghost-like Pokémon that can possess objects and machinery.
Kinda kicks ass!
Moon is already clearly better tbh
aren’t the warm color versions usually better? red, gold, etc. (i haven’t played pkmn in a long time)
The most interesting information for me is the typing and abilities for the two legendaries:
So that’s Psychic/Steel for solgaleo and Psychic/Ghost for lunala.
Right now, I think I’m still leaning towards Lunala. Solgaleo has the better typing in my book. It’s got four weaknesses, but it also has all the resistances of Steel along with type advantage against the Fairy, which will probably still dominate this generation. Lunala has the misfortune of being super-weak to both Dark and Ghost, but other than that it’s all clear. It’s offensive typing isn’t that great, but it’s ability is definitely the better deal. It essentially has Multi Scale, which means it takes half damage when its health is full That’s a top-tier ability, especially if lunala has Recover. Solgaleo just has his own version of Clear Body, which stops his stats from being lowered.
'Course I guess my choice ultimately comes down to stats. If solgaleo ends up being a tank and lunala is frail, I may need to change my mind. On the other hand, Lunala might have the high Speed and Attack stats needed to be a sweeper, so who knows?
Also: the latest leak: possible final forms for Litten and Growlithe:
Two new pokemon reveals!
That Koala’s ability is pretty cool, but not quite as good as Clefable and Reuniclus’s Magic Guard ability, which doesn’t allow any kind of secondary damage, including entry hazards.
Still, if that thing eventually becomes a Normal-type tank with a cool ability like that, I can see it being very competitively viable. I know that stuff is solely my bag, but–y’know.
the youtube voice is strong in this one
I love how “douchey youtube nerd” is a new media stereotype that has already taken hold and will be around for years to come, like the plastic weathermen of the past.
I never thought of the weatherman comparison!
I always think of it as, “Huh. It’s interesting that people gradually figured out that this particular delivery works. It’s similar to Ryan Seacrest announcer voice, but it’s also it’s own thing, which is kind of cool as a social phenomenon.”
Yeah: it’s actually particularly bad with Pokemon videos for some reason. My guess is that it has something to do with YouTube voice basically being friendly, therefore: feminine–and Pokemon fans don’t tend to be that concerned about performing masculinity.

disagree; youtube voice always makes me think ‘suburban white brodude’. it’s rampant in call of duty, halo, other FPS videos as well, which you wouldn’t associate with being feminine or anything.
Yeah agreed, this voice registers as loud and obnoxious which are both usually qualities coded to masculinity. It makes me think of auctioneers, carnival barkers, and mid 00s ‘extreme sports doritos mountain dew’ commercials.
You’ve never encountered the women I have, then
Yeah, I mean, the only way the youtube personality voice isn’t traditionally masculine is that it usually isn’t very bass-y, but that has a lot to do with relative age more than anything else. Otherwise, it is just slightly nerd-y dudebro all the way.
