Went and tried like a hundred perfumes today. Confirmed that rag and bone Amber is unavailable in Japan. Was mourning its absence all day.
My 4 standouts were
Portrait of a lady and Carnal flower from that frederic malle series. Basically all those scents are really good but those two are just unbelievable. Portrait of a lady makes me delirious like I’m in love.
Tubereuse interdite and tan d’epices by Andree putman. Tubereuse interdite has this rly heavy fig scent in it that is just like, viscous and red and delicious. It’s really good. The other one I kinda forget but I know I rly liked it. It was my first time trying those two, or anything by Andree putman for that matter.
Still don’t know what I’m gonna buy. These 4 standouts are all like mad expensive but I’ll probably end up getting one anyway

Reading about tubereuse interdite online and nowhere is saying it has fig which is weirding me out. In English online everywhere is saying it has

Looking at the pic I took the store wrote these notes

Which it seems are the notes for figue de fleur, which is another scent in this line, which I didn’t try. But the one I tried (which was in a tubereuse interdite bottle) definitely had huge fig notes and almond for sure. So now I’m wondering, do they have some huge bottle they use to fill up the tester bottles??? Did they mix up these scents and I smelled figue de fleur in a tubereuse interdite bottle??? I’m so confused. I’m gonna go back to the store later and find out

yesterday i bought 50ml of portrait of a lady.
I mostly just use free samples, but I’ve gotten some Replica Jazz Club and some NEST Indigo as they ran out
tried some Etsy perfumes but they really don’t last very long at all, the jasmine one’s pretty nice for that 1 hour it does last though

I have smelled the wonders of Gorilla Perfume’s “LUST”, the thesis of which is “if you smell straight-up jasmine, your loins will instantly inflame”
It smells like my favorite tea, it’s very nice

i was really into breath of god for a minute when i was forest getting into scent
I have been thinking about some body wash that we got a couple times.
It was a $4 bottle of Caress. It was an unnatural and deep blue green. I remember its label as advertising pachouli and tuberose. It smelled very strong. It was good. I loved this soap. I think we bought 3 bottles, total, with breaks in between, before it disappeared from our store’s shelves, surely to be back some day soon. That day never came. This was years ago, now. I’ve looked for it at other stores. Even mistakenly bought another bottle thinking it was the one I remembered. I couldn’t remember what the precise name of it was so tonight I looked it up.

A teacher of mine once wore a scent that was like cookies and cream, but sophisticated. Another teacher was a connoisseur of perfume and told me exactly what the other teacher wore, but I forgot.
