and what is the deal with like just having a slab of jagged glass, itself with a 2ft tall cylinder? of glass? jutting up from it, right in the middle of your floor?

Looks like the TVs are also topped with a glass shard with two glass cylinders.

Think I read once that a lot of those novelty CRTs made for kids are actually really good displays since they were made during the early mid-aughts when the technology was at its peak but the market was clearly shifting towards flat screens so manufacturers were trying their best to just sell off their old stock any way they could.
