Heard that one of the free companies on Jenova was holding an anime con today. By the time I got there the venue was at capacity and people were forming a line outside.
Got into it after work about an hour before the con proper closed, so most of the artists selling commissions had already left their booths. Predictably the con kept going for another two hours of rave.

how long is it since you left? i’ve said this before but i binged 14 for a couple of months at the start of 2019 (got to to the end of stormblood and did a couple of the raids) and every so often i think about coming back, though i’m on uk time and can’t do my destiny 1 playing with sb pals at 4 am thing anymore!!! curious how it goes for you coming back after a long break

i got through to the end of shadowbringers in couple of month bursts over a 4 year period. the biggest issue i had returning was changes to classes that cut moves, so i had to rearrange hotbars. actually playing the class wasn’t too bad to pick up from running some familiar dungeons a couple of times.
I last played last summer after I got dumped. Kind of tapered off in the fall after finishing HW and it’s post content. I think i got overwhelmed by all the stuff I acquired and stopped. Will be a bit sporadic in play for the next little bit due to booking another movie but I crave MMO combat and ESO ain’t cutting it. I will let you know how it goes.

fwiw all the jobs I’ve tried have fairly explicable rotations (which I gather is due to a bunch of simplification and streamlining later on). Tank rotations are especially simple. I can usually figure out what a job is supposed to do just looking at tooltips for a few minutes. Then it’s just a matter of setting up good hotkeys and getting that muscle memory going.

i’m almost a little disappointed at how easy it is to just put equivalent abilities in the same hotkeys across different tank/healer jobs. the DPSes at least will often if not always have different rotation structures going on

Seems like tanks are the most similar for sure. Healers have slightly more variation. Sage is definitely different - that’s why I like it so much
