I like that this game has ikaruga interludes.
I was a lot more tolerant of getting OHKOed (at like 70% health but still) and having to start the whole game over after 20 minutes when I played the demo
Itās not entirely damning but it sure persuaded me out of playing on hard
View on game has completely changed since the start if loop 3. This is the Nier I remember! Weirder more brutal story stuff.
This might also been because I switched to the J dub which seems stronger. Be warned there are plenty of background vocals that are not subtitled if you go this route.
Was excited to keep going but jetlag hit me and was falling asleep.
Here is some straight advice! As soon as you unlock fast travel start doing as many side quests as you can. Unlocking fast travel actually means you are about 60-70% through the game. Each loop is a hard lock and your choice of quests changes between them. There is one storyline I dont know what I did to trigger outside of doing a lot of side stuff and if that was because I was on Loop 2 or I could havd done it on loop 1.

Tried for two hours before I gave up on hard. I am probably too persistent about this sort of thing.

I watched contentdeleted play this some, the invisible walls weirded me out pretty regularly but uh wow this game sure does have the best menus and music huh
Really appreciate the amount of sass in the writing, not having seen any big Plot Stuff yet (disobeying anything 9S tells you to do and seeing how the writers handled the pushback was pretty amazing)
((putting the Fishing item right after all the practical ones in the shop menu, for 10x as much: also amazing))

yeah, iām torn because iām on the jdub now but iām definitely missing stuff. this problem is missing little things in this game can be a big deal! itās a game of little things. i was having a hard time hanging with the english dub, which is kind of a bummer because the original nier is probably one of the best english dubs for a game iāve ever played.
i didnāt get much farther than the resistance camp because i was talking to people there and then the vocals came in and i was like O.O
oh yeah, donāt play this game on hard. normal and easy (with the assists) are the only two difficulties this game really needs.
man Iām pretty excited about playing this game. that doesnāt really happen to me. amazon taking their time a bit, though 
Yeah, I am annoyed that Amazonās launch day delivery, which has worked perfectly fine for other games, now means the day after launch and my consumerism is jonesing here, dammit.

if amazon hecks up my delivery on friday (ugh wtf why is uk release date not til then??) then i will 100% just go buy a copy from a shop anyway.
yeah, I generally assume any game that offers me a Very Hard option from the start wants me to play on Hard by default (and indeed Iām still a little afraid that Normal is too easy) but that was an extremely bullshit first mission on Hard and itās hard to want to switch back once youāve had to drop it down that early?
the enemies were kind of spongey on hard too I guess so w/e
EG review has confirmed along with rudie that you want to play this at least to loop 3, which seems like a not-too-tall order, weāll see
when do I get to change outfits??? thereās a little too much upskirt for me, it feels not-great titillating compared to bayonetta (I will defend bayonettaās characterization and narrative forever)
