Nier 2

The mech and boss design rules.

PC version purchased.
Now the waiting begins.

there’s a eurogamer interview with yoko today where he claims that platinum were so competent that he just spent the time that he normally spends yelling at the dev team on drinking instead

so even if I’m still a bit wary between the relatively boring levels that have been shown off in all the preview media and rudie’s lukewarm response, I’m certain this will be impossible to dislike

I mean let’s not forget that the majority of rudie’s first impressions of Killer7 were to complain about some water textures

Not to like, call anyone out but

…But literally calling someone out by bringing up an opinion they had 13 years and two message boards ago? And also to ignore those post later in the thread where they talk about playing this game for thirty hours.

What silly passive aggressive style you have.

Anyhow, ordered this on PS4 today. Now to finish YKZ0 and be amazed at this game getting ignored because Zelda.

What I meant by that is that I’m not dissing him or anything. I like rudie. I just meant that sometimes his first impressions of games are a bit tangential to the meat

edit: also I mean, I kinda disappeared from IC/SB for like… ten-some years, so.

Fair enough.

But I guess for me I like those tangential views because the underlying thought it “what is there didn’t grab me to the point that I noticed this largely minor thing, because nothing else distracted me”. Like if I am into a game, I’m not noticing its water textures to complain. But if I’m not feeling the game, I will be all WTF water?!?

That water texture is really bad though. Also that was high-pretension IC days.

Killer 7 rules.

This game is more interesting the closer to the end of loop 2 I get even if it is describing the post-script of Drakengard 1 for the third time.

Also notice how I am being very polite not talking about the game in any detail but merely telling you how it makes me feel so that I do not spoil it for anyone.

Yeah but how are the water textures?

so, I’m pretty interested in this near autofellatio the kids are talking about. never played the first game but I’m thinking to myself it came to the PC so I might just as well give it a shot, seeing how the first game was a mediocre but cult favorite type of work. Which is the kind of thing I like. So you do a lot of combat in this game I suppose? How’s that working out, is it satisfying? I’m not interested in the story at all, I admit. Just wondering if this is good from a gameplay perspective

If the demo is any indication, you can get a rough approximation of the gameplay by alternating playing stages of Metal Gear Rising and Geometry Wars back and forth

I am super hyped for this game to a degree that is unhealthy.

I rather trust this guy and it seems he enjoyed his time… Even called it his favorite Platinum game in the comments

Good. GTAV is still number one for water textures.
