Got tickets for the London show in June woo
i’ll be going to the Brooklyn show! kinda don’t love how tickets were handled this time around (he’s always been so…creative with trying to prevent scalpers), but i got’em, at least
My dad is actually the person managing this tour. I will probably end up going. But I remember when I was a kid that was extremely into NIN I unreasonably kept dropping hints he should try to work on one of their tours. And now 20-ish years later he is, and I feel like I owe it to my younger self to be more excited for this tour than I really am.
I saw them on the Hesitation Cuts tour long ago, and it was really cool even though I don’t really like that album.
A tour leaning heavily into like Year Zero, the Challengers soundtrack, and Bad Witch and the two EPs they put out a bunch of years ago would be pretty cool.
that’s neat!
i last saw them at Radio City a few years back, after the EPs came out. that show was a really good mix of stuff, one of the better shows i’d seen by them (i have probably seen NIN somewhere in the range of 8 to 12 times, but i honestly forget). the fact that they don’t really have anything they’re touring on (unless they plan to release an unexpected album or something this summer) for this gives me hope that it’ll be a creative and interesting show.
Ticket prices were nuts here even during the presale, and I panicked and got some weird spot up high that I’m worried is too much next to the stage and I’ll miss all the cool projections and weird lighting that they always bring it with. I also wasn’t sure how to handle that they seemed to have a secondary stage in the center of the floor on our diagram. And wanted to pick something where they’d both be in our field of view.
tronarse
Fingers crossed they’ll actually let them incorporate the original Wendy Carlos score this time around
just makes me want a new quake game
it’s pretty unlikely i’d be able to fly out for this, but i’m tempted
that said, i haven’t done any digging - what is the “concept”?
Sound track artists.
If it wasn’t Edmund Fitzgerald 50th weekend, I’d be strongly considering it.
Funny how this sounds like standard Nine Inch Nails with some synthwave elements mixed in. I’ll be curious to see what the instrumental parts sound like, and I hope the movie itself is better than the last one.
more like Without Teeth lol
vocals sounds like trent doing karaoke to one of his own songs
It’s fine, I hope it’s lyrically focused moreso than a score with their band name attached.
They’re as good and as inspired a fit for Tron as Daft Punk were. The thing that bothers me is that it’s a Jared Leto vehicle that doesn’t look particularly visually interesting.
yeah, also on the “it’s fine” side of things, but going to reserve final judgment for when i’m home and can listen to this on good speakers. would put it on par with like “Deep” or something
I’m still pissed Wendy Carlos wasn’t involved.
Exactly the first thing that came to mind. Definitely a step below Burn or She’s Gone Away or even Theme for Tetsuo the Bullet Man.
