I for one enjoy this Guinness Book of World Records attempt at porting a retro-styled game to as many retro consoles as possible
Also itâs a pretty decent 2D Arena Multishooter (what did I just type) in a genre I have barely liked since Smash TV SNES

that is not an uncommon or unusual observation from people i know who lurked there. it was a toxic community in a lot of ways (i donât know how it is now or has been the last decade+). i will always have a complicated relationship with it because i learned a lot making music being around that community and i had stuff get an audience it never would have otherwise. but there was a lot of mean-spirited competitive teenage shit going on there and i inherited some toxic shit from my experience there (and on its competitor website vgmix back in the day). also i just never jived with the sensibilities of most of the people on there. a lot of self-promotey gamer grindset energy stuff has really taken over it what remains of that space. i was too âweirdâ or âout thereâ for a lot of people a lot of the time even when i wasnât trying to be weird or out there at all. people always asking âr u on drugsâ and stuff lol.
also i look at some of the artists i liked from there who never really did anything else, and then i look at some of the artists i was kinda âmehâ about who are really successful now and itâs hard to feel like that community was great for a lot of people. i donât know, the whole remixer â chip musician â indie game composer pipeline didnât end up being for me i guess. but it was sorta my pathway into a lot of other stuff so i canât complain too much.
