that’s gonna go on the analogue pocket very fast
OpenMW finally has its own Lua support for mods now - it’s not compatible with MWSE’s Lua yet, but they plan to support it later. They also plan to move as much of OpenMW’s game logic from C++ to Lua as possible, which they call “the great de-hardcoding”. It looks like it’s going to become a good engine for making elder scrolls style games in general.
if starwind is any indication openmw faces a sisyphean struggle to offset the awful taste of bethesda fans
OpenMW is such a great project, it’s amazing what people have done with it already (there have been so many good OMW-Lua mods already that were developed while that feature was still exclusive to nightly builds)
i wish bethesda would have pulled an id and released the source for arena/daggerfall (and ideally mw as well, of course) when they started giving those away for free. assuming they, uh. still have the source lol
id releasing wolf3d/doom/quake/quake2/quake3/doom3 source, still some of the most baller moves by any dev
Whenever this thing gets relatively more “finished” I am very much depending on a tulpa list of good mods
look just because it’s true doesn’t mean you should say it
keep Time Gal out of this cool lost game finding person
“we know where it is, but we can’t get it” media
the platform wave attack looks really cool.
Bully 2 lookin fire
i wish people got what i liked about bully and made a bully 2 so bad SO BAD
its nice to have a wrestling empire for people who might not be super into wrestling though
Nothing makes me check out more than “lost media” somehow becoming a common phrase.
Some canceled Gameboy Color demo ain’t on the same level as the Day the Clown Cried.
On the one hand, yeah, some of this stuff is probably more appropriately called “ephemera” to keep the proper perspective. On the other, I get a sick feeling knowing that ephemera is disappearing so I’m totally fine with society disordering it’s priorities to match mine.
Between Bully and The Warriors it almost seemed like the beat-em up genre was about to establish itself in the 3d action game space but then it didn’t really happen for some reason. Final Fight Streetwise ended up sucking and Rockstar stopped making games that weren’t GTA or Red Dead I guess.
But damn what if, you know.
You could do a Devil May Cry character action game, you could do a Grasshopper/Clover weird approximation there of, or you could do a Lego game. That’s where the 3D brawler led.
My fantasy 3d action game I’d make would be a brawler where the verbs were Punch, Kick, Grab, and Throw. They would all be available from the start and context sensitive so you could throw enemies into the game environment in neat ways.
Wait I’m describing Sleeping Dogs. That had the same combat designer as Bully. I should replay Sleeping Dogs.
I don’t care about the brawling I want a neighborhood simulation.
I want a neighborhood game
pentiment is a neighbourhood game
