hi I would like to impart the insanity of the Yamato game being rescued from its super deluxe setups in a few game centers in the year 2023 and the idea that it could come out in English because the disc has Star Blazer idents on it as well IIRC
unless they’ve changed it, Google Play Games requires Hyper-V, which funnily enough, Home versions of some Windows just don’t let you install because why the fuck would you, non-Professional Windows User, need Hyper-V enabled
I also love how the app just points you to Windows-native clients for some games (which, yes, you should be playing native versions of the likes of Genshin or Nikke over playing them in a glorified VM)
I’m going to be the asshole and say if you care about playing phone games, just buy an new/newer iPad with 128+gb storage. shit, PlayCover for Apple Silicon Mac OS is better than what Google has here and you gotta source your own IPAs from dodgy sites with that (which is owing to the fact that every Apple product is now the same shit computationally and they could just as easily mandate that games no longer be blocked on Mac OS but here we are)
- this thing will be killed off in 6-12 months
you can’t activate a play pass using this thing. bullshit!
melody gifted me a family google play pass games sub thingy but i literally can’t use it because i don’t have an android device except for my TV, which won’t let me do it
i thought i might be able to do it on this thing but naw
Extremely limited selection of games on the PC Play Games beta anyway
I’ve played like 20 hours of Diablo 4 and have no idea what any of that means
So AssCreed Mirage is story driven like the original game, right down to the progression system not being xp-based. So all the new moves and abilities you unlock are tied to story events and quests and things like that. So that’s neat. They’re really just giving fans of the original game a direct sequel, or prequel I guess since this one takes place a couple hundred years prior to the very first game.
Baghdad circa 850 AD looks really cool and is the primary reason I’ll play this. The rest looks fine too I guess. I like that they’re ditching xp-based progression in this one. Truly they are just building AssCreed games for every type of AssCreed fan at this point.
Now I’m watching youtube documentaries about Baghdad in that era.
Yeah I haven’t played on since the Ezio trilogy and I find myself feeling oddly compelled in a way none of them really have. (Have been meaning to check out Black Flag for years because I hear all the boat stuff is fun).
don’t worry i have played enough diablo iv that i’m confident everything after the first sentence is a joke
For now, but this is a game where “Seed of Hatred”, “Grim Favor” and “Aberrant Cinders” are already names of currencies. Give them time.
Yeah I wouldn’t be so sure
I asked on the Demon Lord Reincarnation Steam forum if there was a screen shake option and the developer replied
There’s no option like that, but I’ll consider it.
Update: the option to turn off screen shake will be added to the release version. This option will not affect monster sprites, though.
The screen shake on team members being hit is definitely worse than monsters taking hits, so, I could probably live with that. : )
A couple other interesting things from the discussion forum there:
- no resurrection (but can get new characters “roughly the power of the previous party”; also, dead characters have an “unrevealed” “purpose”)
- “escape chance is always 100% to compensate for the high encounter difficulty, except for the final boss battles, which you can’t escape”
- they’re aiming for completion time of “roughly 10-15 hours”
- Reincarnation is a remake of Dungeoncrawler GameJam 2023 submission “Demon Lord,” “featuring reworked combat, expanded dungeon, additional events, and more”
The jam version:
Hm the 'tuber is mapping on paper, which probably means no auto-map, at least i that version. Uh-oh. ; )
DoDonPachi DaiFukatsu physical preorder page is up.
jagged alliance 3 comes out on friday. i didnt know that game was finally coming out i only you know heard about it for the first time in uh 2004! they posted a trailer where they got the creator of jagged alliance on the team and as an example of jagged alliances 3 funny humor they played a clip of a merc saying “i cant die yet…i still havent won the approval of my parents” which is ideal, like zinaida in silent storm telling you her father would have beat you to death like an unwanted child on the farm for your poor marksmanship
honestly eastern europeans have come the closest to recreating the secret sauce so im happy to hear the lead designer of this game is some bulgarian dude who ritually plays through ja2 every year. theres even destructible buildings!!
…huh.
destructible buildings are definitely a step in the right direction… I would like to be more excited about this, but a) a lot of the things that worked well about JA2 in the first place had more to do with being released in 1999 than with particularly great tactical gameplay, b) we’ve been getting diminishing returns from projects that were clearly greenlit on the back of new xcom, like the absolute dregs, and c) afaict they haven’t shown off anything having to do with emergent storytelling beyond what a person might very generously read into the premise, which has gotta be the only thing they could really hope to excel at
this seems majorly also-ran, hope it isn’t though
