“Make an even worse Gollum game” would be a fun theme for a 24-hour gamejam

the Gollum levels were the first missions to get cut when push came to shove in the Mordor games

wait, you didn’t play as him in the first one, did you? That only existed in the sequel up until 6 months before ship

the ideal “gollum game” is a lightweight survival sim with a faint touch of animal crossing. idly swim and spelunk around the caves to eat the most unappetizing creatures imaginable, look for pointless trinkets and baubles you can take home to admire, and have thrilling conversations with your neighbors (hallucinations, inanimate objects, unspeaking animals, etc.) — no story or numerical progression systems or epic plot beats connecting to the wider LOTRverse, and only the faintest whiff of combat.

“story mode” would just end after a random confrontation with bilbo, while “free play” mode gets rid of that event but is otherwise identical.

MGS master collection doesn’t say anywhere what platforms it’s releasing on outside of PlayStation.

I’m excited to play it on PC but otherwise totally disinterested in everything else I saw in the PS5 trailer reel

The Gollum game looked like a poor man’s Styx: Master of Shadows right from the getgo and like, how do you manage that with the LotR license lol

So a Studio Yeo game? Sounds good.

It’s Jak III

They got that cop from Stranger Things to play one of the leads in the Alone in the Dark remake.

Comes out October 25th. Like the week after Alan Wake 2? My cup runneth over???

They put out a lil 5 minute playable prologue thing that I played. No real gameplay (think the intro to RE2make and RE3make), but it has some good graphics, art direction and animation and none of that UE4 jank that lets you spot a bad game a mile away… so, game could be decent? It’s a REmake clone through and through but I’m always down for more of those!!

Pasopi Yokohama, One of the last major station, dingy arcades is closing saying the rising energy and maintenance costs as unfeasable. Guess I’ll stop by and play mame on a busted cab before the end.

Maaaaan, I have so many memories of just killing time there playing Mushihimesama back in the day or TGM more recently waiting for friends to show up to the station. This one hurts

(also pasopi was where I played chunithm the most because its cab was exposed to the outdoors)

Author of Glider going back and remaking his old shareware games now that he’s retired. Thinks he might be done with Glider by the end of summer.

I played Dragon’s Dogma very soon after the PS3 release, and I played it through a second time and did the expansion stuff before several of my friends got around to trying the game. It’s funny how many people have told me they used my overpowered pawn to get through the game.

Sounds like the sequel will still use the pawn system rather than being “true” multiplayer.

Annoying to see that it’s been announced only for consoles I don’t own. Might have to resort to playing it on the computer.
