ai is notoriously bad at eye directions, mostly because we’ve evolved the ability to detect extremely subtle changes there so anything other than perfect is super noticable

they just patched the Switch 2 so that it runs Switch 1 games undocked as if they were docked on Switch 1, which makes them native 1080p and generally fixes every outstanding compatibility issue with unpatched Switch 1 games. silly that it took them almost a year for this obviously great compatibility fix, but wow what an improvement

honestly hard to overstate how good this is imo, there were a bunch of Switch 1 games that I was like “well it’s a shame but I’ll probably never play this again unless/until they patch it because their nearest neighbor scaling looks so bad” and I was kind of irritated that they were encouraging indie developers to still list their games for Switch 1 before Switch 2 since most of them weren’t going to bother to maintain two separate code paths/resolution profiles and they’ve just fixed all of that once and for all

It can be a little wonky sometimes though, because it disables the touchscreen and pretends a Pro Controller is attached. Also some games don’t allow it at all, like Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!

sure, but this is a vastly better 80/20 solution than they previously had, and it makes patching the remaining 20 much more plausible

You can still jump into your other favorite worlds in VR until June 15, 2026, after which the Horizon Worlds app will be removed from Quest, and Worlds will no longer be available in VR. After June 15, you can jump into all your favorite mobile-optimized worlds on the Meta Horizon mobile app.
Lot of use of the word “jump” for a service that doesn’t let you have legs.
