i really love 4heroes, charm is oozing out the walls on it and probably my favorite graphics in a ds game. i think it and the bravelies are really great earnest attempts at really directly integrating yoshida’s concept art into a bespoke style of game graphics

definitely worth mentioning that the combat does not let you target enemies/allies, you just choose skills and the game tries to figure out who you might want to use them on. i find theres a sort of fluidity to it, for a handheld game you can just tap a few times and you’re done, but it feels like the kind of thing that should have been an option rather than a core tenant

I was not really aware of what Crimson Desert was until today when I watched this video and now I’m actually kind of hype for it. That level of detail at that massive a scale is mind blowing.

their charity stream where they played payday 2 was a bit slapdash but i’m willing to give this a chance

they just released the first DLSS 5 demo videos and they’re just yassified resident evil lol

I am very very glad I got the highest end 4xxx series card — DLSS 4.5 path tracing looks incredible, frame gen up to 2x (or anecdotally even 3x) is quite sensible in terms of the added latency (4-6x not so much), quality upscaling basically produces better visual results than native in newer games — and not a 5xxx series card, you can tell the product team has really veered from “good AI” to “bad AI” with that particular generational shift

Its like they are targeting gooners with no aesthetic taste

options in pc games were already bad as it was, nobody seems to believe in the authored experience least of all game developers, but what gives nvidia the right to this kind of butchery, these ted turner motherfuckers

They turned her into Aubrey Plaza

Do you think nvidia hired that guy who made the half life 2 fakefactory cinematic mod

Dlss hallucinating ferns growing out of every flat surface to convey the ultimate in cinema

it’s by far the worst thing I’ve seen out of them yet, honestly makes me relieved that the PS6 won’t have access to this stack (it should, in fact, have something closer to parity with DLSS 4, which is so far the good bounds of the technology) so it’s not likely to be standardized

Fakefactory of course was already mentioned, the middle aged German gooner who could only pound it to Brazilian women half his age. But even before he put Alyx models with fully modeled cervixes into HL2 there was another canary in the coal mine

The yassification of Ira in Jagged Alliance 2 Wildfire

This is what the people want. Go look at nexus mods. It’s an endless sea of shit that looks like DLSS 5 yassification. LLMs have freed these men. We were fools, the warnings were all there, and now they will destroy us.

Demoed on 4000 dollars (MSRP) of computer hardware btw

Everyone is focusing on the yassification filtering it does, while I’m over here being mad about the Assassin’s Creed Shadows comparison they showed completely redoing the lighting of a scene to look “correct”

the way it ruins all sense of lighting or contrast in any scene on top of everything else makes my complaints about RTX recreations of old games look pedantic in comparison, what a piece of shit technology, it is very funny to turn something theoretically useful like DLSS into useless trash

this is nuts. I mean the lighting, I guess, looks “better” on the hair especially, but the complete restructuring of her face is totally bizarre. DLSS 5 gives everyone lip injections?

so not only is it ugly but prohibitively expensive. who is this for? especially when PC parts have exploded in price?
