My friends and I almost got kicked out of a game store pokemon TCG group because we kept pronouncing it like ā€œbeat offā€

Old SB lore: There was a time when one former admin of this site wanted to murder me and another person who no longer posts here because we wouldn’t stop joking about Bidoof being the best at like 2 in the morning. A good memory.

had been looking forward to this for a while ever since hearing that some people split from Playground games to do an open world racing game. Didn’t know they partnered with Amazon - who put not games executives in charge of studios and mismanaged a vast majority of projects into disaster. I don’t think they can find a publisher unless Sony steps in - it would be a natural fit since EA will never make another Need For Speed

…as if Sony would, having shuttered multiple studios chasing it’s fucking live service obsession. An open world driving game can work as a live service game, I’ve actually spent money on multiple of them, but in 2026 this kind of logic just doesn’t work. Sony is probably using a marketing data company that tells them a driving game is too niche and they should only make hero shooters or something.

I’m mostly interested for Captain America and the Avengers, the garbage is a bonus.

Update: oh red hit flashes on bosses and things, guess I’m not interested after all.

my only knowledge of x-men arcade’s revenge is the mutant ages let’s play. they used game genie codes and savestates but in their defense i can’t imagine how miserable the game would be to play without them.

I have no idea why I don’t get the Costco magazine. My in-laws do, so it’s not because I’m in Japan.

Someone at Costco publishing must love Shinx
