Guybrush is way funnier as a blandly handsome himbo no one likes, every depiction of him after LeChuckâs Revenge sucks ass, actually now that I think about it I kinda dislike a lotta character art in those LucasAarts adventure games, I think I hate almost all late 20th century American animation, God, fuck cartoons, I think if I ever met Chuck Jones I would have stolen his bow tie and flush it down a toilet, I really hate those little eyes-half-closed-smirks all his characters had after a point, I think I made a mistake in not having breakfast yet

yeah honestly I think thatâs a large part of why I like the first monkey island more than the others. heâs relatable and funny as a hapless loser. heâs a lot more boring as the seasoned adventurer they portray him as in the sequels.

I mean the art style does look vaguely like the âmemphis styleâ noodle arm thing, but I donât hate that aesthetic beyond the associations that have grown around it.
itâs more the paper doll animation stuff that rubs me the wrong way. it feels like a budget compromise, but honestly I can accept it if the writing/design is still good.

Actually I think the new artstyle isnât weird enough. The art directorâs other stuff like Tearaway and Knights and Bikes looks awesome but this is just kinda uninteresting in comparison.

People want a new game so bad theyâll buy $40k worth of stock just to ask em about it and get a straight answer. Hell, I want a new Fzero. Redout and other indie games seem to be filling the void, butâŚit just isnât the same yanno?
